If you have been apartment hunting in Jakarta, you may appreciate how difficult it is to find a simply designed, neutral space. 111m2. 3 bedrooms, although one room is set as a study. There is a pool, gym, children's play area in the building.
This will be your home for the duration of the stay so all the facilities of the apartment will be available to you.
We will do what we can to help you settle in, and if you are new to Jakarta, we are just a phone call away should you need any help.
We are close to the business district and some good shopping malls in south jakarta. there is cheap and cheerful or high-end places near by. The one way system can make return journeys quicker or slower depending where you are going. Generally, for Jakarta standards, it isn't bad at all. There are supermarkets within walking distance.
Here are the things that you should know. The bathrooms are not very big. Communal showers are not going to be comfortable...Internet we have is free and the fastest available in the building. its not super fast but it works for (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and YouTube. A location is only perfect if it is in the neighbourhood you need to be in so do ask about commuting times if you are unsure. The lobby is also quite small but is manned 24 hours either by receptionist or security. There is currently a building going up close-by. They are at a stage where the work isn't too noisy now, though.

Jakarta has terrible traffic problems. Experienced drivers and honest taxi drivers will be an asset. Don't expect to walk much as pavements weren't even an afterthought on most streets here. Even if there was one, someone would have set up a stall on it. Public transportation is not great. A 'busway' system is the closest thing available to something a major city like this should have. Due to the weather, lack pedestrianization and parking, almost everything is done in a Mall. There are no high streets and you do end up becoming a little dependent on these places. Buy food in good supermarkets unless you don't mind your meats and fish un-refridgerated and swarming with flies. Indonesia is friendly and incredibly tolerant. English is widely spoken and people are mostly helpful. Embrace her oddities from our respective norms and all will be well.
Treat the home as you would your own and we should be fine. Don't play cricket, or practice golf swings as we have low ceilings...The cleaning fee is for after you leave. We do not have a daily cleaning service but if you require a daily service, we can try to help you find someone. The management of the building require us to have passport details or identification our guests.
Both as hosts and tenants, we have been pretty lucky on Airbnb, meeting some lovely people along the way. My day job is a that of commercial film director/manager of expectations, Indie my wife, often wears the trousers and does an amazing job of looking after our boys. I am British, my wife is Indonesian, our kids are naturally, both.
