The Boomerangs are truly one of a kind. We stayed two nights on our way from Melbourne to Adelaide. There was so much to see along the way between Melbourne and Johanna (where the Boomerangs are) that we arrived well past 8 pm. Mark and Roz, who live in the "4th boomerang" right on the property, checked us into Cottage 1. The cottage was clean and well kept. Make sure to wake up early to catch the unbelievable views outside, around sunrise. Rolling hills, cattle on the pastures and the ocean beyond. This is pure, unfiltered, natural bliss --- with some unforgettable flora and fauna. We cooked breakfast and dinner in the cottage and had lunch outside in one of the cafes around the area. Mark gave us some dvd's for our children and also showed us around the garden. Our kids, aged 6 and 3, had fun cutting flowers around the property to make a bouquet and Mark even let us cut some herbs and zucchini for our meals. Their pet dog Hannah is also very friendly and well-behaved. Johanna beach is a nice secluded spot about a 5 minutes drive away, however the sea is quite rough if you want to swim. We also spotted one kangaroo near there. The Boomerangs are a good resting place to explore the area, such as the waterfalls, 12 Apostles and other natural wonders within an hour's drive. The spa bath is also a relaxing experience after a day of exploring --- our kids did not want to get out of their bubble bath! The wi-fi signal is a little slow, but we had our own Telstra data plan that worked great (not sure if other mobile carriers work or not, but Telstra had a very strong signal)
Also, this is rural Victoria, so not much in the way of gas stations (or petrol pumps as they are called in Australia) or grocery stores. So do your research to find a Coles or Woolworths and bring groceries with you --- plus, it is fun cooking with the incredible views.
Overall, a very pleasant and refreshing stay.
