The roads are great and in the winter get cleared daily when it snows. You would want to have a car for the many great day trips you can do from here. We’re 35-45 minutes from Denver, 30 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater (great music), just minutes from Staunton State Park and for hiking, and have many great hikes near by. There are great restaurants and local hot spots like the Bucksort Salon. Pikes Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs many great ski resorts, like Vail and Breckenridge, are only a couple of hours away. Lots of beautiful Hot Springs Resorts too.
We are 420 friendly with moderate smoking subject to fire restrictions.
We do welcome dogs, but we do need you to make PRIOR arrangements to bring them.
We're only 2 miles up from the main highway, with very well maintained mostly paved roads, so considering how secluded it is up here, it is very easy to get here.

Otros aspectos destacables
We do allow guests to bring dogs (PRIOR arrangements have to be made), we clean up carefully after them but if you're super allergic to dogs this place might not work for you. If you are bringing a dog and it is a shedding breed there is 175$ dog deposit, which we refund if you take care of the hair, otherwise it goes to the cleaning person.
The altitude is 9400 feet. It is a rugged mountain environment, we are on a sloped hill side, have a sloped driveway, and sometimes the elderly or folks of moderate health sometimes need some time adjusting or have trouble with the altitude. Drinking lots of water helps a lot.
We periodically are asked about air conditioning. In the hottest time of the summer it can get into the 80ies during the day, and cools to the 50ies at night compared to most ACs having a low of 60 degrees so it really is not necessary here.
As we don't have street lights, which is great for star gazing, you will benefit fro having a flashlight if you come in and out after dark.
We offer a clean safe comfortable well priced space, outfitted with the basics, if there is anything special you need please don't hesitate to ask.
We do allow dogs but ONLY if you make PRIOR arrangements.
Our weather is mostly nice, but we have the occasional storm moving through that can bring snow on rare occasions as late as May and as early as September, those are usually isolated and make it cold only for a couple of days and then it is nice again. There can be icy spots except for the peak of summer so bring good shoes. Even in the summer the nights can be a bit chilli and you may need a light jacket or sweater.
Our neighbors have been very tolerant of our airbnb hosting, out of courtesy to them we ask that you limit your use to the lower deck and apartment, you don’t have to be super quiet, we want you to enjoy yourselves, but want to make you aware that sound carries a lot more in the quiet nature of the mountains as there is no back ground noise.
You are welcome to make a fire in the wood burning stove, wood and starter are available at both grocery stores, please do not gather from the land out of courtesy to the neighbors. Please leave it to us to clean the ashes, they stay red (able to start a fire) for days and need to only go into metal containers, and not out in the yard as fire danger exists. As we have a lot of wildlife, if you need to dispose of trash before the end of your stay please ask your host; because of the many animals like bears we don’t put certain trash outside until the day we take it to the transfer station. We are 420 friendly, but ask that you limit your smoking to moderate outdoor use (subject to fire restrictions, e.g. if there is a fire ban, there can be no smoking outdoors, this does not happen every year, usually only in the spring, often in June, when it is very windy, please talk to us if you have any questions). We do not allow cigarette smoking not inside not outside anywhere on the property.
I moved to Colorado from Germany after college. I lived in Denver for several years, then moved up to Conifer where I absolutely love it. I earn my living as an auto broker. I love hosting on airbnb and the interesting people I meet, and I'm a pretty easy going host.
