Jungle Tide is a fantastic house in the hills with four en-suite bedrooms. Kingfisher is our budget en-suite Family Room in the garden near the swimming pool. It has a double bed and four bunk beds, with a covered seating area outside. Access is via a stairway of 48 steps from the main house so Kingfisher is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties.

We now live at Jungle Tide most of the time. When we are away we have a resident English-speaking manager to welcome and advise guests. Our resident Sri Lankan staff, Martin and Rani, will cook and clean and look after all your needs while at Jungle Tide. When we are there we will offer western food if you prefer. Lots of home-grown fruit and vegetables and eggs laid by our happy hens.

We want our guests to relax and treat the house as their own home. We ask only that you respect the property and our staff, and in particular give Martin and Rani. a couple of hours to rest each afternoon. They are there to prepare up to 2 meals a day - if you want drinks and snacks you must serve yourself. Although the house is non-smoking, guests are welcome to smoke on the veranda.
We are an active couple in our 50's and 60's We built our house in Sri Lanka because Sally was born and grew up here and Jerry fell in love with the place when he came to visit. We brought up a big family in England with 5 children between us including foster children - so we love children and enjoy a busy happy houseful, but are also enjoying the freedom of being "retired" and able to walk, read, swim and chill out after years of busy parenthood. Jungle Tide is our long wished for dream home and we absolutely love having guests to stay! Our philosophy is live and let live; we like people so hosting makes us really happy and anything we can do to help you plan your trip and see the best of this island paradise we are happy to do. At Jungle Tide you can help your self to as much tea, coffee and water as you want for free; if you need something: shampoo, sun-cream, a plaster, sunglasses or to borrow some socks, just ask! We really want you to feel at home and our biggest hope is that you enjoy this little corner of paradise and relax! Now we have established ourselves full time in Jungle Tide (October 15) we plan to be travelers too - so maybe we 'll be knocking on your door next year!
