We really had a wonderful time at Cesa Gaia. Clare's review already makes the right compliments, so we can only agree! Thanks a lot Sergio and Daniela! Trees & Bert, Anna & Bonnie

Cesa Gaia is a really wonderful holiday spot. The house is lovely and the grounds are idyllic. Daniela and Sergio are the perfect hosts: kind, helpful, communicative and discrete. The house is at the top of a small hill and gives wonderful views in practically every direction and isn't overlooked. The pool is fantastic: large, clean, perfectly positioned and completely secluded. Next to the pool is an outdoor shower to rinse off without having to traipse through the house. You can sit and read for hours in the garden in perfect peace and quiet. The only decision you have to take is which tree to sit (URL HIDDEN) unusual oak, one of the olive trees....or maybe a swing in the hammock in the dappled sunlight? There are several tables outside the property so you can eat outside whatever the time of day and in sun or shade - whichever you prefer. We tended to have breakfast on the little terrace, lunch by the kitchen door or under the oaks and then dinner on the lower terrace under the vines by candlelight. Now, the house itself: It's completely charming and very well decorated with small touches that make it feel like a home and not a clinical holiday property. There is a large fireplace which would be wonderful in winter, the living room which it warms opens on to a good-sized kitchen with a large kitchen table ideal for a family. The kitchen is a proper Italian kitchen - big pasta pots, proper coffee pots and plenty of wine glasses! The tiled floors downstairs and upstairs was lovely and cool and really added to the character of the home. Upstairs, the master bedroom has stunning views and is dual aspect. The twin bed room is ideal for children and has a lovely spacious wardrobe and a second chest of drawers. The bathroom is also really nice - ideal for getting ready before going out to dinner if you can bear to leave Cesa Gaia for an hour or two! Amelia itself is a short drive away and is not a tourist hotspot - we went in the second half of July and there was a lovely village festival which was full of local people. There are a couple of really fun restaurants in Amelia: La Locanda - Really nice, quite smart restaurant with English-speaking staff. Good for a Friday or Saturday night. 7 Via Angeletti, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Porcelli Pizzeria Tavern - Fun, sweet people, nice pizzas. 73 Via Farrattini, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Osteria dei Cansacchi - Wonderful place, great food. You MUST try and eat here. The menu is on photocopied bits of paper - I assume that it changes all the time. The place is a bit eccentric but really, really warm, welcoming and the pasta we had was unbelievably good. Pizzeria Narducci - In Sambucetole - drive to end of village and turn left at a small garden plant shop - it's on your left. Thanks for a wonderful time, Daniela & Sergio!

I am Daniela, I live and work in a big city, but I love to spend my holidays in the country, in touch with nature, taking care of plants, walking into the woods and arranging typical dishes with local foods, that I cook by myself.

This is the reason I refurbished this ancient country house, surrounded by the olive trees and very comfortable, where me and my family can spend delicious moments of rare happiness.
