A big thank you to Ivan and his lovely family for sharing this part of paradise with us for 2 weeks. The location is Robinson-like, even though you have everything in wider walking distance (it is about 1 km to the small harbour of Dobropoljiana where you can find a good restaurant, 2 cafes, and 2 small super markets). The house is directly at the sea, you just have to cross the garden of about 50 meters and then you´ll find this lovely place whith a platform where we were almost every time alone and went swimming and snorkeling. The water is crystal clear but no sandy beach so you should wear swimming shoes. We rented the big appartment on the ground floor with the big veranda on the backsite where you can sit and relax. As it was end of summer season we were the only guests. There are 2 more appartements in the first floor. They are sharing a veranda from where you have the better sea view all over the island up to Zadar. The apartment has everything you need and a fully equipped kitchen. It is not brand new, but clean and functional. What I really want to highlight is the hospitality of Ivan´s Mum. She lives next to the house in a bungalow and welcomed us with fresh homemade Palatsinke (not sure if this is the correct spelling) filled with Nutella. After this she brought us almost every day a taste of traditional food and -attention- home made red wine! Guests are allowed to use the big barbecue on the front site of the house. There you can enjoy the last sun of the evening while eating fresh grilled Cevapcici. For this you should start planning early, as the only 2 butchers of the area are located in Tkon (where the ferry from Biograd arrives) and they are only open in the morning till noon. We had our car with us, so could easily drive to Tkon (about 10-15 minutes) where you have some more supermarkets, Konobas, restaurants and a boat and bike rental. We booked a day trip to Kornati National Park with Stipe (this can be booked directly next to the tourist office). It was on an traditional wooden motor boat and Stipe and his wife are really loveley hosts. The national park is fantastic and can´t be described with words - you have to see it with your own eyes. The trip includes drinks and meals. You could go swimmimg from the boat in a hidden bay with again crystal clear water that you can enter directly by jumping from the boat... another recommendation is to drive about 1 hour south of Biograd and visit the Krka waterfalls. If it is not too hot you can hike up the highest hill of the island. The trail starts directly in Dobropoljian and on top you have the best view over Kornati islands and Zadar. We loved our stay at Nina!

I like good food, calm places where you can relax, mountain bike, cars, travel, good music. I like to meet new people, new cultures. I usually stay in contact with my guests. If they want I cook them Croatian specials, offer them our family vine, and make their stay much better than the expected when they booked it.
