About Us : Mirasol was born & raised on Siargao Island. She worked as a nanny in Manila for several years, then married Martin in 2003 & moved to England in 2004. She worked there for five years and travelled across the world to obscure countries like Liberia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, UAE, Portugal, Spain, Indonesia & East Timor. The highlight of her life so far is the birth of her son Rafael in 2010.
Martin was born and raised in England. He discovered the joys of surfing during a study year abroad at UC San Diego. He arrived on Siargao Island for the first time in 1997, and although he has found many other places in the world better to surf, it was the vibe (and Mirasol) that inspired him to return to the island time and time again.
About Residencia Miramar: We've hosted over 25 nationalities in the past three years. We get great reviews by treating our visitors like family. We are no frills, but offer unique, native accommodation for a good price. In October 2016 we renovated our "Pacific Views" listing into an open plan apartment with a western specification bathroom; turning it into an even better space at a very competitive price for increasingly expensive Siargao.
Currently we (Martin & Mirasol) are not living on Siargao Island. Martin is teaching English in a small town on the NE coast of Saudi Arabia. Mirasol is keeping him sane during this extended three year break from tropical island life. Mirasol's brother Bebet and his wife Grace will takeover as hosts once you get to Siargao. We'll communicate with you before you get to the island and help you with anything you need to know.
