Quiet and cozy fully furnished Tiny Home nestled on Historic Turkington Estates. 5 star rated super hosts of 3 other airbnb listings here in Homer, we're excited to share this new space with guests venturing to Alaska! The panoramic view of Kachemak Bay from Turkington Estate's secluded 28 acres is one of the most breathtaking views you can experience while visiting Homer. Grewingk Glacier, Poots Peak, Gull Island, the Homer Spit and more; they're all visible!

El alojamiento
The Tiny Home sits at the top of our estate with an incredible view from the deck! You will have full access to the property to walk around and soak up the view from every angle.

The Tiny Home sits adjacent to the main vacation rental, Scott's grandparent's home which was converted into a vacation rental several years ago. The Guests who have stayed at the Estate the last few years have overwhelmingly enjoyed their stay however we can never accommodate everyone who inquires to stay. That's why we decided to add this tiny home to the property. This will allow even more visitors to Homer to have the opportunity to enjoy our little slice of Heaven.

The Tiny Home can sleep up to 4 people. 2 comfortably on the full twin beds in the loft and 2 bonus sleeping areas on the benches below. As many may already know, a tiny home can only be 13.5 feet tall which does give the loft a lower profile. The twin mattresses are lower to the ground and although you can't stand up you can sit up and move around easily in the loft. If you have bad knees and or back however and have a hard time bending over, the stairs and lower profile of the loft may not be suitable for your needs. So far our guests have overwhelmingly loved the cozy feel and given us a 5 star rating. The benches on the lower level are slightly narrower than a regular twin mattress and are 6 feet long. If you're taller than 6 feet the benches may be a bit on the small side for you. However for many and especially children, they will probably be totally adequate. Note we will leave the bedding to make the benches into a sleeping area on the benches but you will be responsible for making those beds yourselves. The beds in the loft will be premade. The Tiny Home comes with a kitchen, small fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, coffee pot and enough utensils for 4 guests. The shower is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

We also include coffee, tea and granola bars which are complimentary items to help guests get through their first morning at the cottage. There is a mini fridge provided should you need additional food or beverage items. There are two conveniently located grocery stores in the heart of downtown Homer where you can find such items.

Turkington Estate is part of the last remaining 28 acres of Bob and Carolyn Turkington's original 360 Acre Farm. Turkington Estate's B&B was Bob and Carolyn's home which their eldest son, wife, children and grandchildren have converted into a rental for guests to experience this unique property. Bob and Carolyn's grandson Scott, his wife Hester and their two girls have nestled this cozy little Tiny Home on the Estate so others can enjoy its incredible views!

Bob first came to Alaska in 1946. He drove from Hartford Connecticut in Model A's and eventually found his way down to Homer. He fell in love and knew this is where he wanted to live. He soon returned to Connecticut, married Carolyn and brought her back to Homer in 1948. The Estate is now in the care of Bob and Carolyn's eldest son Alan, wife Joyce, their 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

The way the sun plays off of the snow covered mountain peaks, glaciers and clouds across the bay, you'll have a front row seat to some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets Alaska has to offer. Grewink Glacier, Poots Peak, Gull Island, the Homer Spit and more, they're all visible from the Estate. Through the summer months it's not uncommon to see a mamma moose and her young stroll through the property, an eagle soar overhead in search of a meal or have a flock of Sandhill Crane land in the field and forage for food with their young.

Guests might enjoy going for a stroll around the property/working hay field, exploring the various flora that grows wild, picking a snack of wild raspberries from the raspberry patch in the late summer and fall or sit out on the deck and watch the sun set in the late summer! Please note Joyce and Alan live on the property and have a small Chihuahua and Miniature Schnauzer that occasionally like to go out and explore the property. They bark and new people they encounter but are harmless and won't bite. They're very friendly if you'll run their bellies :)

The Turkington's are 4th Generation Alaskans/Homerites and we love the last frontier! We hope you'll choose to spend part of your Alaskan adventure with us!

Acceso para huéspedes
Your reservation gives you full access to the Tiny Home and the 28 acre property. There's enough parking to accommodate cars, trucks, RV'S and boats. The Tiny Home will be accessible for you to let yourselves in no matter what time you arrive.

Hi, My name is Scott Turkington and I am a 3rd generation Alaskan. My Grandfather first came to Alaska in 1946 in Model A's all the way from Hartford Connecticut. The military was still punching in a road through Canada so that they could get vital supplies to Alaska to defend her from the Japanese who had invaded the Aleutian Islands. With his military permit granted to him to travel the road, he struggled through muddy mucky roads all the way to Alaska. He eventually made his way down the Kenai Peninsula to Homer and fell in love. He soon returned to Connecticut, married my grandmother and moved her back to Homer. Back then there wasn't much here and you had to be a real pioneer to make a living. He eventually purchased 300 acres in homer just out east end road. That's where I grew up and spent most of my life. Eventually I met my wife Hester while working for an alternative fuels company in Missouri. A few years after our daughter was born we moved back to Alaska so she could experience the magic and wonder that I experienced growing up here in Alaska. Grandpa Bob has since passed but our family purchased his land and turned their house into a vacation rental. Now Hester and I have expanded the family venture to include this cute little tiny house so more guests can enjoy the family property. We're excited to share our Tiny Home with you and to help you have your own Alaskan adventure. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us! We look forward to you staying with us!

We will contact you the day of your arrival on how to have access to the B&B at your 3pm check-in time. It is appreciated if you are going to have a late arrival that you let us know. A message through airbnb's website or app to let us know you arrived is appreciated. We want to make sure your check-in was successful and an enjoyable experience.

You might see the Turkington family tinkering around in the barn behind the B&B, picking berries in the raspberry patch or having a family get together over at Joyce and Alan's house or other guests staying at the main B&B. The family is very respectful of our guests and we will ensure you have a nice quiet evening on the property. If you do see us around the property, we would love for you to say hello. We want everyone to enjoy the property as much as possible. Each guests level of interaction with our family or other guests is entirely up to each individual. Whether you're there to check in and have a quite stay to yourself, or you like to say hello should you see us on the property, we're just happy you decided to stay with us while visiting our little hamlet by the sea!
