A traditional weavers cottage in the hill top village of Midgley overlooking the Calder Valley.
An ideal location for hill walking, fell running, cycling or just relaxing in a beautiful setting. A short walk away from Midgley Moor with it's historic standing stones and burial chambers, or a short distance from Hebden Bridge with it's independent shops, cafe's and restaurants.
Ideal for a weekend away in a traditional Yorkshire Stone cottage with mullion windows.
Well behaved dog welcome.
El alojamiento
66 Towngate is a cosy cottage with central heating throughout. The house is practical and comfortable. A fully equipped kitchen with 4 plate electric hob and a full size oven. There is an electric kettle, a microwave and all the utensils and kitchenware you will need to just heat up or cook a meal.
We have good WIFI and also a TV with integrated DVD player. Some DVDs are provided; or you are welcome to use my Netflix account.
The bathroom has a shower, small sink and toilet.
There is a standard double bed in the bedroom with individual duvets. An electric blanket is provided for those cold Yorkshire nights.
The annex room has a writing desk, hairdryer and lovely views over the valley. Both this room and the bedroom have blinds and curtains.
There is plenty of space for your clothes and belongings in the wall cupboards.
The views are absolutely stunning and although the cottage is just below the moor, access to Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd is very good.
Acceso para huéspedes
The whole property is available for guests. Also a lockable stone built outbuilding across the road (the old toilet) is there to keep pushbikes and larger items secure.
Otros aspectos destacables
At this moment, the check out/in times are different to my usual times. I am leaving the space for a recommended time after guests leave and then go in with gloves, mask and all the relevant cleaning equipment to make the space as safe as I possibly can for you.
I am aware of cross contamination and will get all 'dirty' out, change my PPE, before setting up the space for you.
All hard surfaces, light switches, door handles etc will be disinfected. So will be the sofa and the mattress.
I always put two pillow cases on each pillow ( they both get changed at all times ), the mattress has a protector and sheet on it. All blankets and rugs will be washed after every visitor.
All crockery and cutlery will be washed by me.
There is tea, coffee and a few other things there for you to use if you like. I always provide milk and butter just for your use and there will be bread in the freezer.

Midgley is a small hilltop village. The people are very friendly. You will meet the locals, dog walkers, mountainbikers and horse riders. The local shop is run by very helpful volunteers from the area. Next to the shop is the community room which is open at times for tea and cake or an evening talk or quizz.

I am married with two children and two dogs. I had a tearoom for over ten years and are now enjoying life at home. I walk the dogs, love gardening and are now investigating if I can sell my handmade silver jewellery. I also knit and crochet. I would like to travel to the Nordic countries one day. I was born in Germany and come from the flat north. I love being able to see for miles. That’s why you can find me on the moors quite a bit, walking the dogs and taking photos. I fell for my tiny house that I am Airbnb-ing because the view is so stunning and I really like the space. I had to remodel it a bit to move the shower from the cupboard into the bathroom. I think it works better this way. My ultimate goal in life is to live by the sea.
