Here again, Elaina is being very dishonest about her stay. They reported the following to my husband in an email before their trip : "Thanks. We will have 4 adults and 2 kids - Jul 12, 2018". My husband told them to go in and amend the number of people coming because they had only put in 1 guest, so they went back in and put in two guests which, of course, did not change the amount of their stay. They were bringing two children with them so they obviously knew about the kids coming and then they were meeting up with a sister and brother-in-law in Anchorage and coming down. They DID know how many people were staying in the cabin. Elaina has also been a host through Airbnb for longer than we have and she clearly knows how everything works.
As for the surprise visit, I was checking to make sure everything was going okay and to discuss their dishonest behavior. I DID NOT ask for more money, but explained how disappointed I was that they were not honest with me the night before. I guess the guilt got to them, so their sister found another place to stay. My husband and I pride ourselves on being very honest and fair with everyone and I felt like Elaina and her husband played on my emotions by saying they could not afford more so, of course, I gave in and let them stay for the price they paid on-line which was a very good deal. Of course their sister got a cheaper place because it was probably not a whole, newly renovated house that sleeps 9 people with brand new beds and furniture. We are very sorry for the confusion that you felt you had and we hope your enjoyed your stay in Alaska anyway, but dishonesty does not pay! Shelly (Daniel's wife (Website hidden by Airbnb)
