It is unfortunate that your stay was less than excellent. Please allow me to explain what had happened and the community could decide as to why I believe this review is unfair. Summarizing his complain, it's clear that the unpleasant experience is due to the fact that my cat, Jake lives in my unit. The complain revolved around the cat. Below here is the full story. Soon after the guest checked in, I received a message requesting to connect. I was away out of town during that time in a location where cell service is spotty. As soon as I am able to, we connected via phone. When we connected, the guest started complaining that he didn't realize that there is a cat at the property and started complaining (rudely) and blaming me that the listing didn't mention a cat. After I clarified that the listing does indeed mention my cat, he proceeded saying that the cat should be clearly noted on the listing and not just the end portion. I invite every potential guests to read my listing and reviews. My cat is clearly mentioned there and there is even a picture of him. Also, reviews before and after his all mentioned my cat and almost all adored Jake. After our brief phone conversation, he mentioned that the cat ran out. We ended the phone conversation with him saying that he'll get back to me. During the phone conversation, he mentioned that he's allergic to a cat. He was being really angry and rude about the listing not mentioning a cat clearly, which I find is really hard to believe. Long story short, after the initial conversation, we continued our conversation via text messages. From this point onward, he continued coming up with complaints after complaints related to the cat and his tone and language in our text messages got worse. There was even cursing involved, while I maintained professional responses. I believe I am a decent and courteous individual and also reasonable. However, I do believe an oversight on his part doesn't justify his rude behavior to me as well as blaming my cat and listing. If during his initial contact he said he accidentally overlooked the cat in the listing and communicated respectfully about his allergies, and asked to work something out with me, I would have totally worked something out with him! However, he chose to engage in rude and disrespectful manner from the beginning. That is just not something I tolerate. He was very adamant about the listing not mentioned any cat. But after I showed him, he said he'd call me back. I didn't recall he ever requested for a refund directly to me. After this though, was the start of his false claims and complaints that you can see in his review. It is still very hard for me to believe that he could overlook the cat. Almost all reviews I received mentioned Jake and almost all adored him! My personal belief is that these negative points he mentioned are just there so that he could argue to Airbnb for a refund. Which again, he would have probably gotten it had he engaged in normal and respectful way, instead of rude and pointing blames at me. Best, Dillon and Jake
