If I could give six stars, I would. This is the perfect Airbnb, in my opinion. A beautiful property, spacious, airy, recently painted, bright and light and dreamy. An original 1920s plantation home, with original floorboards and windows. A delight. There's no air con but you absolutely don't need it with the trade winds blowing so beautifully through the windows on all sides. There was so much provided breakfast, bagels, fresh fruit and juice, the kitchen and bathrooms were always sparklingly clean, there were no other guests upstairs when I was there, so I had the whole floor to myself. Technically the bathrooms are shared in some rooms, but I ever had to wait, and absolutely felt like I had one to myself. The washer and dryer were exceptionally easy to use, and available for everybody, and the outdoor shower was a DREAM. I mean, honestly, showering off the beach at 10pm when it's still 28 degrees, and looking straight up to the sky in a tropical paradise? Ideal. It's true it's on the Hana highway, but earplugs are provided and I slept like a dream. The location is perfect, close to the hippie township of Paia, and I downloaded a GyPSy guide, an app, which allowed me to travel off on the Hana Highway by myself, stopping at all the local and secret spots, and getting fascinating history as well. As with most of the Hawaiian islands, you will need a car to get around. But the absolute star of this property is Lindsay, the innkeeper. She was joyful, laid back, so welcoming, filled with awesome local knowledge (secret local places to see turtles!) but absolutely gave me my own space as well. Nothing was too much trouble. An absolutely ideal host. I would recommend her for some sort of Airbnb host award if I could. Thanks for a terrifcstay!

We arrived, but were not greeted. however, instructions and keys were available. the inn is quite clean. shared bathrooms, no upstairs shower, no amenities such as soap, shampoo etc. Fruit and cereals available. The setting is on the main highway to Hana, and highway noise is significant.

This B and B was everything it was advertised. The outdoor shower was amazing. The only drawback was the road noise, so it's not good if you are planning on hanging out there during the day. Also, earplugs are necessary at night. Otherwise the place was a great find for a couple nights in Paia.

This is a lovely place. It is pleasant to be here as far as the ambiance goes. However, if you want quiet in your bedroom, this place may not be for you. My room overlooked the Hana Highway and was very, very noisy due to that.

This house is very pretty, the rooms are large enough, and the people who run it are plenty friendly, but it's more of a hostel/pension than a B&B. It is not as quiet and secluded as I might have hoped, because the Hana Highway runs in front of it and there are cars and trucks zipping by all night. While it's only about a mile from downtown Paia, the road is not a pleasant one to walk on, so you have to use your car for just about everything, and parking in Paia can also be a hassle. Finally, there is also only one indoor shower to be shared by four guest bedrooms. This was also just not my favorite area of Maui -- Paia is very cute and worth visiting for a day trip, but I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Perfil de usuario de Kuau Inn B&B

This wonderful treasure of a house has four rooms for guests, 2 upstairs with ocean and mountain views. They share a lovely bathroom with a bathtub. These rooms have cable TV and telephones. Downstairs, there are also two guest bedrooms: a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom. There are three bathrooms downstairs. Additionally, there is an outdoor open-air hot water shower for two.

Inside Kuau Inn

We have a beautiful, large living room and a pleasant day room which together make the common area spacious and comfortable. We provide WiFi throughout Kuau Inn. We have cable channels, DVDs, and a flat screen TV. There is a sound system inside and outside. We also have a washer and dryer that can be used upon request. We clean the house daily to keep it sparkling.

A healthy breakfast is included. We provide an assortment of tropical fruit, breads and bagels, cereals, milk, juice, teas and coffee. Guests may help themselves to breakfast whenever they please. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and entertaining - complete with toaster, microwave, coffee maker, blender, food processor, etc. There are two refrigerators, one in the kitchen and one on the lanai (patio) for beverages and guests' groceries.

The lanai patio is where the gang can hang out in the converted carport, local style, barbecuing and watching the sun go down. Warm evenings in the yard offer endless star gazing! The house is surrounded by tropical landscaping, fruit trees, and a large back yard for playing and sunbathing.

Kuau Inn is owned by locals who have lived on Maui since 1969. The Inn has onsite Innkeeper to assist with any guest needs or inquiries. We hope visitors will relax and enjoy the island lifestyle. Kuau Inn has an informal and pleasantly social atmosphere. Although the house is kept very clean at all times, it sits beside a sugar cane field, and it is possible that some small insects and geckos could find their way into the house. We have very few, but it happens. Without regular poisoning, all Hawaii dwellings will have some insects at times. Kuau Inn has a policy of not poisoning for the health of the environment, ourselves and the guests. If you have a serious phobia, please consider this before booking.

We would love to meet and host you Maui style!
