This cabin is quiet, well-equipped and the woodwork beautiful. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. You arrange for your own breakfast, but there was coffee and tea and beautiful pottery dishware. We asked for no feathers in pillows and comforters and they arranged that and replied quickly. There is ample parking and we enjoyed being surrounded by fireweed in early September. There is no tv but a wonderful book collection. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a gorgeous cabin, from the woodwork to the pottery used in the kitchen. It's a perfect location, just a few minutes from downtown Homer and the Spit. You can enjoy the quiet and serenity of the area and Marie and Mark take great care to leave a book of suggestions in the area, including some great trails. This was our favorite place to stay in Alaska and we will be back!

We had a great stay in a well-built homey cabin. Mark and Marie are very kind, sensitive, and friendly people. Mark was willing to share his time telling us about the area.

Cute and quiet place away from any noise and only a short drive from town. All the amenities you need to cook your own meal and make your own home for your trip. Has everything you need for a great Homer trip.

Marie has live in Alaska for 30 years. She is a potter and her work is featured in the Homer Clay Works, located on the Homer Spit. Mark has lived in Alaska 24 years. When not off on an adventure, He helps people with chronic pain. When we travel, we look for clean, quite, affordable lodging. We think you will find all of those attributes in the Sprucewood Cabin. Check out our guidebook for things to do and places to eat while you visit Homer. We can also offer suggestions on outdoor activities around the Kenai Peninsula.

Mark built the Sprucewood cabin in 2000, as a wood working shop. All the timbers in the cabin were harvested from trees on the property. During the winter of 2013, He began the renovation of the wood shop into a vacation rental. The cabin was listed on Airbnb in 2014 and we are grateful for all the positive feedback we have received.
