The Fernleecove cabin views its own private cove. Surrounded in a park like area, this 1 bedrm home is accessed in sheltered ocean waters by a 15min boat ride or a 5k paddle from Deep Cove (The Watertaxi fee is extra & is charged outside of the Airbnb transaction, it is to be paid before departing from Deep Cove)

El lugar

Fernleecove is a boat or paddle access cabin only, no roads connect to it from town--meaning you’ll need water transportaion to the cabin. I offer a round trip pickup and dropoff to get you to and from the cabin for $80 CDN cash total or $65 USD cash total. This includes everyone in your party for the same, one time price. Let me know If you need or don't need water transportation upon booking. The water taxi fee is to be paid before departing from Deep Cove.

Generally guests remain at the cabin for their booking and unless you have your own water transportation, so it's necessary to bring all food needed for the duration of your stay.

There are rock and wood steps leading up from the dock to the 500 sqft cabin. In the main area of cabin is the kitchen, living room with a sofabed, table and fireplace. Attached to this space is a small storage closet, a bathroom and a small bedroom that sleeps two comfortably. There are electric baseboards throughout for it's primary heating so it's easy keep warm in the winter.

The cabin is limited to two extra guests. This is mainly because of septic field limitations. A single foam bed and bedding can be supplied on request.

Disponible para huéspedes

During your stay the cabin, dock, and surrounding woods are yours to explore! As guests you will have the following available...

KITCHEN: Electric stove, fridge & freezer, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, kettle, basic kitchen wares, excellent UV Filtered drinking water out of the tap (in the kitchen and bathroom faucets), basic cooking ingredients like salt, pepper, oil and sugar.

OUTDOORS/PATIO: Private dock moorage, 2 kayaks & life jackets, covered patio, barbecue and firewood (firewood supplied from November to May).

Otros aspectos destacables

CLEANING FEE: A $100 CDN cleaning fee is charged when booking the cabin. $50 CDN is refunded at my discretion based on adherence to the following:
• GENERAL CLEANUP: Cabin is returned neat and tidy / in the same condition as it was received
• KITCHEN: All dishes and kitchen wares are cleaned up including the coffee maker etc. & put away
• USED LINENS: Used bed sheets, pillow cases (not blankets), used bathroom and kitchen linens put into the linen basket in the laundry room

CRABBING: A “tidal water sport license” is necessary for crabbing in Canada, so if you have yours let me know and I’ll leave a crab trap on the dock for you. You can get your own license online--just web search "BC Sport Fishing Guide - Crabs and Crabbing" to buy yours and to find information on crabbing regulations. I suggest bringing fish or chicken scraps for bait as the crabs seem to like these best. For cooking crabs there is a large pot at the cabin and a blue plastic bucket for bringing them back up to the cabin.

WILDLIFE: Since 2015 there have been many sightings of mountain lions and black bears in Deep Cove and the Cascade/Fernleecove/Brighton beach areas. Be aware of this and travel with caution around the property.

INSECTS: At certain times of year (mainly late spring / early summer) insects like mosquito and noseeums can be about.

This is our third year staying at James's cabin and we just love it. We appreciate how exceptionally the cabin, dock and walkway are kept. Plus, it's stocked with everything we need for a get-away on our boat. Thank you James!

Such a wonderful cabin. The Indian Arm is our definition of Canadian summer paradise. We loved it so much we extended our stay. James is a great host, very helpful and reliable.

James' place is a perfect getaway. It's close to city and all that offers (we take the city bus to get to Deep Cove and pick up a donut at Honeys on the way), and only a 10 minute boat ride to secluded nature. This is our second time staying, and we're already talking about next time. We enjoyed kayaking, hiking, playing cards and board games, and sitting on the dock at night looking for shooting stars. James is a terrific host, and the cabin is well appointed with all of the little things you might need.

Such a great place for a getaway! We were only there for 3 nights but easily could have spent a week. It's secluded but James provides kayaks, crab traps, map for a short (but steep) hike to a lookout point, lots of board games and all the necessary kitchen appliances if you like to cook. The cabin is very clean and the dock/decks are in great shape. James also responds quickly and thoroughly with any questions we had. Would highly recommend this space!

We loved how we had a quiet little cove to Kayak and swim in. The cabin had a very beautiful and scenic view during the day and night. We would definitely be back again!

FABULOUS! Our stay was everything we imagined! So appreciate the easy communication with James and his flexiblity of meeting us at the dock (we were stuck in Vancouver rush-hour traffic). We traveled from North Carolina and with only our carry-on suitcases for air travel -- the cabin had everything we needed (we did make a stop at a nearby grocery store - which James was kind to provide a list of nearby grocers!). My six-foot teenage son especially appreciated the extra mattresses in the living room -- very comfortable! Hiking was a little more treacherous than what we're used to in North Carolina (steep and rocky) . . . but, we did make it to the waterfall. We enjoyed the deck for napping and spent a majority of our time on the dock. We kayaked, trapped crabs, and enjoyed seeing the multitude of marine life in the beautiful clear water (mink, a sea lion, numerous star fish and even a huge colorful jellyfish -- that James later told us is called the Lion's Mane). A truly memorable trip -- thank you for sharing!

You can't beat this secluded retreat, so close to the city! James was a perfect host, picking us up for a quick boat ride right to the dock and giving us the lay of the land. The property is in a protected cove with private dock and access to a great trail that leads to a spectacular look-out point. We put both the supplied kayaks and crab trap to good use and caught two large crabs for dinner. Yum! The cabin was cozy and well-equiped with everything you need, especially in the kitchen which was small but efficient. We went for a rainy hike and we're very grateful for the dryer to warm up our wet clothes. The entire property was gorgeous and private - not another cabin with sightlines to the property or dock. We will definitely be back!

From 95 I've spent my summers up Indian Arm. It's been my home for awhile now & I enjoy sharing it with guests!
