Hi Shelli. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. In response to your comments about families, the house wasn't and isn't listed for families with children under the age of 12. You were only able to rent the house because I made an exception for you after you convinced me that my concerns about having children under 12 in the house and on the stairs was a non-issue. When we met at the house, your family was lovely and I enjoyed y'all. After being in the house briefly, your two sons under the age of 12 started running on the stairwell and hardwood floors. I asked if you had non-skid slippers or non-skid socks for them. When you said you didn't, I recommended you purchase some for them. Because we discussed all of this well in advance and you insisted you had to have the house that isn't listed for families with children under 12 ( you had 3 children under the age of 12 in your group), your review is misleading. Also, you note above that you rented the house for 8 people ( 2 families of 4) but your booking was for 7. Before you came to NOLA, you made reference to having 8 people and when I asked you about your booking for 7, not 8, you assured me that your party was 7 people. So, while I enjoyed having y'all, you wrote a misleading review and revealed that you broke a house rule by bringing more people into the house than you reserved it for.
I would caution other hosts from making any exceptions for you on houses listed as not being suitable for families with young children. I would also caution other hosts on the number of people you reserve for and actually bring into their homes. Before I was able to read your comments above, I gave you an excellent review. However, now that I read you had 8 people in my house with a 7 person reservation and you make no reference to the exception you were given to rent a house that isn't listed for young children, I wouldn't rent to you again. Happy Mardi Gras!
