WORST GUEST EVER
I would like to review few points because I think you are showing very bad faith on a number of points. I will try not to enlarge on it too much because I have already lost enough time with you.
Actually I have someone who manages the checkin, checkout and cleaning. Indeed, for professional reasons, YES, I have to move abroad. Am I really obliged to justify myself ??? I do not believe. This is also why you could rent the apartment because I was not there. Why is it a problem that someone deal with the apartment during my absence? The cleaning fee was indicated when you made your reservation and you chose to rent this apartment with full knowledge of the facts.
Checking time : I think the checking time is relatively flexible and, yes, after 20h an extra fee is requested to limit abuse. This accommodation you have chosen is an Airbnb, not a hotel. But actually, if you wanted to be able to arrive at any time during the night it is what you would have needed. But it's up to you to pay the bill, which would have been without any doudt much more expensive.
For the pickup service at the airport, as you say ("by offering to pick me up") was a PROPOSED and NOT MADATORY extra service, which you refused. I do not really see how that could have been a problem.
building renovation: yes it happens that buildings are renovating, and so what? I do not think the apartment where you lived was uninhabitable. On the contrary. I can not be held responsible for all the events and works taking place in Nice. It should not even come under consideration.
The noise: certainly there is perhaps noise from other apartments, yes because it is an old building (you would hardly find new buildings if you wanted to stay in the CENTER OF NICE). But I think you're still in bad faith about the noise coming from the street because the apartment is equipped with double glazing which completely stop the noise coming from outside. If, however, you have opened the window, you certainly must have heard noise (tram, church bell, people in the street ...), yes but it's quite normal you're in town. Know that Nice is one of the most noisy and lively cities in France, so if you wanted to be in a quiet place you should have chosen to go to the countryside. But maybe in that case you would have suffered the noise of the cow bells, who knows?
Additional cleaning fee (10 €): as I already told you the cleaning fee include check-in, check-out and cleaning as it’s mentioned in airbnb site. The cleaning concerns normal use such as washing sheets and towels, cleaning floors, shower and toilets and evacuation of garbage can. In no case this includes the cleaning of dishes and household appliances (e.g. oven) that is soiled by the use of the host. I find it abnormal to find mouldy food in a bowl and unclean dishes.
I think you're looking for the slightest excuse to express bad faith. This experience with you was more than disastrous. But it does not matter to me now because from all my other guests I only had good feedback. I think I made sure that people who are coming to my apartment feel good.
Obviously when you are dealing with someone who asks a lot of others but very little of herself that causes annoyances as the one I just lived.
