Peter is the best host you can imagine. He picked us up at the port and took us to the place. He helped us rent a car at an amazing price and the car rental person (Shakara) was amazing.
Peter gave us all the right recommendations on were to go and we took his word on it, we sticked to that plan and it was an WOW experience.
The place is just like in the pictures. We arrived on a Tuesday, so the beach was only for us, incredible pristine water. The first day we walked the beach and at 15 mins we were in the most incredible bahamian food joint you can find in town. Its the kind of local experience you can just dream about. Had some beers, played domino and had amazing local food. The owner (Ginger) prepared some drinks for our walk back to Pete's place, so our first day was incredible. It was like the place was just for us.
The second day we spent some time in "our" beach and at noon then took the car and drove to one of the most amazing beaches I've ever been. Gold Rock is a 30 mins drive from Tyne Beach and its part of Lucayan National Park, only 5 bucks for person and you're at paradise, with access to the beach and also the caverns. Its the kind of beach Cruise ships would charge 80 bucks to only take your there for a few hours.
We chilled out there and then went to Lucayan market, the only place I wouldn't recommend to eat, but a place to visit in the evening just once.
Our third day started again at Tyne beach were we enjoyed the water and sun, impossible not to wake up and jump into the water, but after noon we went to Taino beach, enjoyed the beach and at 6pm we mingled out with tourists and locals enjoying the local dances and food of the Island's festival. Recommendation: read which events are happening and try to go to all of them if possible.
Fourth day, again perfect sun, after our Tyne beach ritual we drove to Old Bahamian Bay hotel, had lunch and then dropped by Paradise on our way back, no words, take your scuba equipment, a great experience and the place is really paradise.
Our last day we spent all day in Tyne beach, and let me tell you, what a beach! sand is white and quite, I could have spent 4 weeks easily living there.
Dont think about any other place, as other guest wrote and I repeat: look no further, this is it.
Close by there is a market place, small but fully stored, and there is a lady that has a tiny food stand, but definitely the best conch salad and food of the Island.
Peter is really a super host, out of this world. Thanks Pete!
