~Vermont extended its State of Emergency until September 15th = ONE person only in East room. Coming from out of state you would be required to quarantine here for two weeks. Within that two weeks IF you get a PCR test soon after your arrival that shows you are negative for Covid-19 you can then go anywhere as long as you wear a mask. I must get a copy of that “negative test” letter and keep it on file. I believe The only variance to that is to have proof of a negative test a few days before your arrival in Vermont. Yes that’s a lot of hoops but we are the safest state in the union.~

This is a comfortable three bedroom apartment with one, two, or sometimes NO other housemates; mature grad students, local professionals, or other Airbnb guests. You would share the kitchen, bath and living room.
“Shoes Off” household. NO smoking, Vaping or burning anything anywhere on the property.
We are 3 blocks from from the Brattleboro Food Coop. The house is an easy 5-10 minute walk to downtown yet in a quiet neighborhood away from the downtown noise.
House wide WiFi, desk, chair and lamp for those needing to do "a little work" from home.
Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, coffee (w half & half) "DIY" breakfast quickies, snacks.
“Single-Nighters” no range top cooking (no frying).
Several hundred guests have visited the 1886 Folk Victorian Bliss house in Brattleboro, VT therefore ALL reviews compare guests with other guests who had similar “lengths of stay.”

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests have full access to the apartment through their own entry. Robert, the owner, lives in a separate “non-rehabbed” apt. upstairs. We share the small yard, you can often find the elderly owner gardening. The big beautiful front porch is primarily for the guests however the mail to both apartments is delivered there. The small back porch is primarily the owner’s. Your backdoor from the kitchen brings you into the shared utility room with the owners washer & dryer which you may use IF you are a long term guest. The exit door from the utility room brings you out to the small back porch. Safe parking is on the street out front or in an assigned spot behind the house. Please, NEVER block the shared driveway.
Never bring outdoor exercise equipment into the living quarters (bikes, snowboards, ski etc.).
No inviting couch surfers to share the apartment.
“Single-Nighters” no range-top cooking (no frying).

Otros aspectos destacables
A good spot for business travelers who want to feel more at home.
Allergens Free: The apartment has been free of pets for over a decade.
Entire house WiFi; desk, chair and lamp to "work from home," iron & ironing board.
More Reviews (over 100) available by reading my profile (click on my face).
ONLY guests listed in the booking reservation = no inviting a couch surfer.

We are primarily a "shoes-off" upon entering the house, we hope you can continue with this polite consideration. We recycle, compost and re-use when possible. It's actually a town law and State law starting in 2020.

Please use coasters under glasses on wood furniture.
AC for those rare 90* Vermont Summer days.

No burning anything including candles.
NO Smoking anywhere on the property. No "Vaping," NO Tobacco products, No pets, No drugs including "420." No excessive drinking.

I try to use environmentally safe cleaning products, a HEPA vac which is cleaned after each use and the highest level air filter in the furnace (changed every month not the 3 month recommended schedule).
Please let me know about any allergies or negative reactions to certain scents you might have; personal or religious beliefs you need accommodation for (example: specific do-not-disturb/super quiet prayer time; no pork or other product "smells;" no alcohol in sight; can't stand the smell of bananas, oranges, etc.)

Brattleboro, Vermont, Estados Unidos

Very close to the downtown (3 blocks) Brattleboro Food Coop, train station, transportation center and all the shops. However we are in a quiet neighborhood away from all day traffic flow; not on a "short cut" street.

I'm Retired, but I still enjoy rehabbing historic houses, watching birds and gardening. When rehabbing I try to reuse as much of the original materials as possible even if it costs me more in time and effort. I also reuse materials recovered from other old homes purchased from several "architectural salvage" stores in our state; keeping historic materials out of the landfill is important to me. My small yard with organic perennial gardens and mature trees is a nurturing environment for pollinators and birds. I, like most of the rest of the world, believe in removing my shoes upon entering someone's home. It's a matter of respect as well as health and allergen awareness. I'm a stickler about recycling, composting and protecting our environment for our children and grandchildren. My family arrived in America from Belstone England in 1638 joining the already established Plimouth (the "i" was later changed to "y") Colony. In 1640 George Blisse, my direct descendant, was granted 1.5 acres in Sandwich MA. By 1649 the Blisses were living in Newport RI and owned a blacksmith business. During the Revolution two of the brothers battled the British attack on New Bedford. Later the family farm in Newport was occupied by British officers when they took Newport. One night the Bliss women tore down and shredded the British Union Flag and then ran it back up the pole. Later descendants lived in New Bedford MA during the whaling heyday; then Brookline and Winthrop near Boston where they were founding members of the Winthrop Yacht Club (upper "middle sort" not wealthy). In 1898 a Bliss won an engraved beer stein for placing second in the Yacht Club's rowing competition. The stein is a shared family "heirloom."

Durante tu estancia
I am always available to guests and easily found with a text. Have as much interaction as you desire. The elderly neighbors on either side are also very friendly and we often help each other out with different chores.
