Craig was an excellent host. He would respond to all messages very promptly and professionally. His family home is clean and modern, and located in a quiet residential street in Camps Bay. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend others to stay here.

We strayed at Craig's house from the 27.12-02.01.16. Nice house ,great location , privately and safely neighborhood. It was very hot during the night, but Craig was friendly enough to bring 2 fans. Just want to add a few friendly advices so the feeling of value for money adds up. # invest in more and new pots and pans ( it challenges to cook for 8 p) # invest in new furniture in the TV room , ( spots , flakes and holes on sofas) # pool need to taken care of ( stones around pool are loose and "rubber" list around the pool need to be renewed) # please clearly inform the your house keeper is staying at the premise # please clearly inform and agreed in forehand when the garden, pool and house personal should start working ( not before 08.00) # if you want FULL privacy, the tell it to the host. # Beds in the tow of the bedroom doesn't fit grown up kids. # Insist that the host is on site when you are checking out and checking that things is at the same condition as when you arrived Camps bay is a great area.

Respuesta de Craig:
Hi Ken and thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated and great to have you guys in my personal home. I am sorry there were a few things you found disappointing. on the value for money point; your rate paid was approx R9000 per day for 6 days (excl airbnb charges); = R54000 (approx 2960 euros); 490 euros per night for 8 pax (4 adults and 4 children) = 62 euros per person per night. For the position, the space, 2 families living together with all amenities, i looks quite good value for money. I'm sorry this disappointed you. Please remember you rented my home and not a made for purpose holiday house. Further to your points above. # i am sorry you were not happy with the pots and pans. there are a total of 8 pots and pans. i admit, the one pan is old and scratched and we don't use it anymore and i threw it away. # yes, the TV room furniture is also 'used', has a few stains on it but has character and i like it; very comfy for watching TV and my two kids of 8 and 10 climb all over it so yes it does get a fair amount of wear and tear # the pool does has a loose paving stone which i had not noticed before. i agree with you, the edging and silicon join needs seeing to due to the summer sun and the whole pool area will undergo a makeover. # i'm sorry you found Vimby's presence on the property disturbing. Vimby lives in a separate room / separate entrance on the property and this is 90% standard practice in South Africa for house keepers. i am sure you hardly noticed her unless she was doing the laundry or cleaning up for you. if there was anything untoward, please let me know. unfortunately there isn't a box to check on the airbnb website to mention this. # the pool cleaner pops in from time to time and i asked him to pop in a bit more during the rental period to ensure the pool was kept blue, clean and topped up. I sorry you found this an intrusion - he was only trying to ensure your experience was a good one. None of the staff are required or expected to work before 8am. # Lastly, i'm not sure why the two beds in the kids room in not a fit. i am 6 foot 2 inches and have slept in the kids beds and found the fit fine; my feet don't hang over the edge or bump into the wooden slats and they are 3/4 double size, so extra wide. then again they are perfect for kids. perhaps next time you could send thru your kids dimensions to ensure the kids beds fit fine. Thanks again for staying with us Ken and wishing you all the best. hope we can make your stay a perfect one next time, should you choose to book in Campos Bat again. Have a great 2016. Regards, craig

Great location, great house, great views. Craig is very welcoming and quite easy going and relax. Maintenance, security and cleanliness could be better. Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by a house under construction just next door (couldn't have breakfast on the terrasse).

It was great having Bernard and his family stay in my house. They were relaxed, friendly and even understandingly put up with a faulty gate during their stay. however, i feel i do need to respond to Bernard's feedback to correct his mis-representations. Firstly, i don'y know how security could be better. we have an armed guard at the beginning of the road 24/7 and the road is a cul-de-sac and fenced off with only the 4 surrounding neighbours having keys to the gate with virtually no walking traffic. the house has an alarm and all doors and windows are locked. Surrounding neighbours have electric fencing and security cameras. Camps Bay has an active neighbourhood watch scheme and the only 3 access roads into CB are all controlled by private security. CB is probably one of the most safest suburbs of Cape Town and South Africa. Secondly, the house was cleaned on arrival and every alternate day (washing up, linen changed, vacuum, family laundry etc) and i went out of my way to allow them access from 11am before we had finished servicing the house from precious guests, since they had traveled so far. our check in policy is from 2pm. Thirdly and about the construction; Bernard booked on about 30th Dec and specifically asked if there was a construction site next door; he said he could see a large construction site next door on apple maps (but was not sure of the date?). i replied no as the large house built next door to us had finished in march 2014. On his arrival and totally out of the blue and after the builders holidays had finished in mid Jan, the house diagonally infront began renovations (not construction) and there was building noise during the day. There was no indication from the neighbours they were to begin renovations. so it was completely unfortunate for Bernard and his family to stay while renovations were going on nearby. For this i apologise but there was absolutely nothing i could do to foresee this nor rectify once they had arrived. I hope the above explains why Bernard's family stay was not as enjoyable as they had hoped. they are most welcome to return where hopefully it will be perfect for them. Craig

Great location, sweet views and a very hospitable and helpful host. Spent many great moments eating, bbq/braaiing on the expansive terrace. The layout of the house is nigh on perfect. Despite the above I would only say it is a very good rental but not a great one but it is not far off being great. Fixing WiFi coverage across the house, fixing quite a few broken light bulbs and getting some new sofas would assist in getting this property to the next level. Overall though it was an enjoyable stay with the family at Comrie Villa

For my 1st time in Cape Town, I had an amazing stay with 2 of my friends at Comrie Villa. The house is located in a very quiet place, and it's very quick to go to the beach (5min) or the city center (7min) by car. In addition we had the opportunity to meet the owner, Craig, with whom we spent a very nice evening. To resume, Craig is truthfull and I recommend the villa for any kind of stay
