The Barns at Brithdir Mawr were originally cowsheds, converted as an extension to the farmhouse, to create our much loved family home - Now separated off to into a holiday cottage, we hope we have retained the homely and welcoming feel which we have enjoyed over the years.
The property is secluded and has a rural outlook with views to the mountains.
The host is an outdoor instructor and and is happy to offer private guiding and instruction or simply chat about the best places to explore.
Brithdir Mawr is registered as a smallholding and is an ideal base for a break in N Wales. There is plenty to do for all ages and a half hour drive will get you to Snowdon, Tryfan or other mountain peaks, and to some of the best beaches on the N.Wales coast ( see photos).
Castles, bird reserves, museums and a host of other tourist attractions are within easy reach, and the fastest Zip wire in the world is only 10 minutes away(Velocity at Penrhyn site - Zipworld's other sites are further away - check their website)
The property has ample parking space for several cars.
Should you be travelling by train (direct train from London 3-4 hours)the station is a 10 minute taxi ride away
The main room is light and airy with high beamed ceilings and picture windows opening up views of the lovely gardens. A well equipped kitchen with large induction range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and washing machine. Comfortable bedrooms each with double bed and flexibility to put a single in upstairs room(bedroom 2 on photos) - please ask when booking. The stairs to bedroom 2 are quite steep. Bathroom 1 has bath only ( hot water by immersion heater). Bathroom 2 is a shower room with electric shower.
Children love it here, but as with the note on the outdoor space toddlers and younger children will need careful watching/supervision- with stairs, and the woodburner especially needing care.

Otros aspectos destacables
This is a smallholding with ditches, streams, rough ground and woodland. Although we welcome children, and there is plenty of scope for adventures on site ( our 5 year old grand-daughter loves it here ), it is not particularly toddler proof and young children would need to be supervised if playing outside.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT PROVIDE TOWELS but they can be hired at £1.00 per towel(to cover laundry) by prior arrangement. A basket full of wood will be provided per night booked. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on sofas please.
Please leave the property in a clean and tidy state ( as you would wish to find it on arrival). Please leave any used towels in the bath.
We are required to recycle as much as possible by the local council. Please help us in this by using recycle bins in kitchen appropriately.
Any dog waste should be cleaned up and put in green bin.Thanks.
Additional fuel can be purchased from host if required ( £6 per wheel barrow - coal currently £9/50kg)
