Located in the countryside in the famous "Toggenburg" area, Brunnadern may be a quiet little Swiss village with rolling hills, but the possibilities of what you can do in the nearby area are endless.
Whether you wish to enjoy long hikes in the mountains, cable car rides with panoramic views, go swimming in alpine lakes, see the art of cheese-making, or experience winter fun in ski areas, Brunnadern is a great starting point - the gateway to all of these experiences in less than an hour drive.

Otros aspectos destacables
I have two cats in the house, although they are not allowed to go in the guest bedroom.

There are many wonderful things you can experience within an hour of the house. Some ideas are listed below as well as in my Airbnb Guidebook.

Neckertaler Höhenweg
There are many beautiful hikes that you can start right outside your doorstep, one of the most notable ones being a section of the Neckertaler Höhenweg (from Brunnadern up to Wilkethochi where you will have beautiful panoramic views). The Neckertal valley connects the Toggenburg and Appenzell regions and is situated at the foot of Säntis mountain. The route takes hikers to the region's most beautiful vantage points.

The Neckiweg
The Neckiweg is a hiking loop, divided into four stages, which can be shortened if desired. It leads through meadows and forests, over various bridges and footbridges, across brooks and rapids to the most beautiful spots of the area, which so far have been known only to the locals, leaving it pristine and untouched.

Hiking trails between Wildhaus and Alt St Johann including the Toggenburger Höhenweg
A large ski resort in the winter but a wonderful hiking area in the summertime. A dense network of hiking trails covers the region. Among the trails is the multiple-day Toggenburg Höhenweg extending for 87 kilometers from Wildhaus to Wil. The Toggenburger Höhenweg presents hikers with one of the most beautiful but also one of the most challenging hiking routes in the St. Gallen countryside. Breathtaking and incomparable views constantly draw your gaze down into the lush green Thurtal valley. Shorter theme-trails such as the Sound Trail, the Thur Trail, the Chnobel Path, or the Saga Trail invite you to discover Toggenburg by foot. A barefoot walk on the educational moor trail around the high moor of Rietbach near Krummenau lets you discover rare plants and is balm for body and soul.
The hilly topography attracts mountainbikers as well. For these, Toggenburg offers 20 sign-posted routes, between 13 and 44 kilometers long. Numerous mountain lakes (Gräppelensee, Schönenbodensee and the Schwendi Lakes) attract swimmers.

Cable car ride to the summit of Säntis (2502 m)
A 30 minute drive to Schwägalp will take you to the base of the mountain Santis where the cable car can take you up to the summit ten minutes. The summit of Santis is 2502 meters above sea level and offers beautiful panoramic views from all sides.

Lake Walensee
A beautiful lake in an area also known as the Riviera of East Switzerland. The scenery of the deep blue lake with steep rock faces on one side is reminiscent of a Norwegian fjord. You can hike along the shore, sunbathe on the beach, or go on a leisurely boat trip. Nearby you will find the car-free wine village of Quinten, which can only be reached on foot or by boat. Between Weesen and Quinten, the three-tiered Seerenbach Falls are among the highest in Switzerland.

The Schönenbodensee nestles in an idyllic location amid lovely scenery in a protected moorland zone. A bathing facility with a large jetty was erected on this charming natural lake in 1930. Pedalos can be rented, and food and beverages are available. A dip on a warm summer's day as your spirits soar amid the splendid backdrop of mountains – just perfect!

City of St Gallen
A 30 minute train ride will take you directly into St Gallen, a city that is home to the Abbey of St. Gall, a monastery of various architectural styles including baroque. The complex includes a library with a rich collection of ancient books, and a twin-towered cathedral.
After strolling through the town center, be sure to check out the Red Square (Roter Platz), the first open air public lounge in Switzerland that spreads out in the St. Galler Bleichi district. Covered in red rubber granulate and lit by artistic lighting elements, the "city lounge" by artist Pipilotti Rist and architect Carlos Martinez invites you to relax and marvel.

The house is just a one minute walk from the bus and train station. A small grocery store, a butcher, a bakery, and an ATM are all within a very short walk from the house as well. The central but quiet location allows you to enjoy the peace of the area, go swimming in the river flowing through the village, go on scenic walks and hikes right from the doorstep, or go on one of the many wonderful day trips mentioned in my guidebook.

Hi my names Zarina and i'm from switzerland. I used to be a chef. I am very into nutrition and sport/working out. My knowledge of ordinary cooking is expanding to vegetarian, vegan, and raw vegan diet and also wild plants. Apart from the already mentioned things, I love animals, photography, painting, health education, TRAVELING. I know where you can go for a workout, swimming, sauna, hike in the most beautiful scenery, ride or inline skate on the most gorgeous cycling path, bike, ride a horse etc. We have a big garden with a pond with lots of fishes, a river is flowing right through our village and you can literally start wandering around by just stepping a foot out of the door yet we aren't that far of to be completely cut off. We have a trainstation, buses running, atm, mini supermarket, bakery, hairdresser, kindergarden/school, butcher and several farmers and what not. Next bigger city is just 10min by car and 5min by train.
