17 miles from Moab. Will take one hour. Take the road between Burger King and McDonalds. At stop sign go straight. River on right. Black top ends. Follow signs that say Hurrah Pass. You don't need four wheel drive but you should have some ground clearance. Without it your vehicle will have an inappropriate relationship with Mother Earth. If height is an issue you will have lots of issues up and down Hurrah. We are 2.7 miles down Hurrah. Turn right at Base Camp sign and come to the lodge.
Base Camp and Last Hurrah are remote. Similar landscape to Canyonlands, without all the people. Lots of big horn and mule deer. Boat dock, boat ramp, and beach. Three side by sides, six kayaks, and amazing hiking and climbing. Disc golf course with fearsome reputation. Fossils, dinosaur tracks, Indian artifacts, petroglyphs, finger canyons, and center to the Jackson Hole trail, Chicken Corner, Lockhart Basin, Hurrah Pass, and close to the Wind Caves and all the bicycle trails on the Amasa Back. View of Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands, Anti-Cline, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Large security tortoise, all kinds of squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and in the evenings ringtails, skunks (you can pet them....sometimes), raccoons, and fox come to the porch to eat. The night sky is amazing. It's doubtful you've ever seen so many stars and the Milky Way is a nightly occurrence for much of the year.

You have free access to the beach, the river, kayaks, hiking, climbing and our breakeven for the side by sides is about $65 a day. With the side by sides you can visit the Wind Caves, Jackson Hole, Chicken Corner, and tour all up and down the side of the Colorado River. You can kayak by the beach up river or round the island. Once a week I go to town for groceries and if we coordinate our schedules I can drop you off in town and a four hour kayak back to the lodge.
Atención a los huéspedes
frequently hike in the morning and the evening. You are free to come along. Land of the Skinny People is a mud maze from millions of years ago. Two Trains gives you a view of both sides of Hurrah Pass. Three Fingers will take you into finger canyons at the bottom of the Anti-Cline. Boulder Canyon is where we most frequently see big horn sheep. Stairway to Heaven is a ledge intensive hike again at the bottom of the Anti-Cline. The Rock Garden is a two hour hike through varied terrain of all types. When I'm free I'm happy to go on these events with you and if not I'll give you a hand drawn accurate map and a walkie talkie and guide you.

In general, when guests show up I give them options of various things to do and then make it happen. However, a lot of guests come out because they want to enjoy the peace and are completely happy just watching the occasional raft, kayak, or tour boat come up and down the river with a beautiful landscape background.
