A sunny flat in a renovated medieval house near the main square. At 330m asl, 50km from Florence, 10 from the A1 highway. Shops, outdoor market, clean river, woods, museum, concerts in a church rebuilt under Charlemagne, restaurants, tourist office.
The flat gives a great experience of living in a Tuscan village, just 20m from the main square. The town itself is unique, above the humidity of the valley, but well below snow. In the summer it's dry and quite breezy towards dusk. There is ample free parking, and the driving time to trains in the valley is 15 minutes and to various cities 30 (Arezzo), 45 (Florence), 60 (Siena, Cortona), 90 (Orvieto, Pisa, Perugia) minutes. Our hills, in the province of Arezzo, are known as the Colline del Chianti Aretino - less famous, less touristed, the wine is DOCG Chianti.

The private door is on the floor directly above mine. I can give you your keys when you ring my bell or I can meet you at your car and show you the way. Via Ricasoli has no traffic, so GPS doesn't include it, but there is free parking areas nearby on via Gruissan (misnamed Via Genova on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps), Via Roma and Piazza Garibaldi. You can, however, stop temporarily to unload at the bottom of via Ricasoli, and webcam pictures of Loro show this spot between Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, facing the clock tower, on your left. It will be on your right as you go down V. Emanuele towards the main piazza.
Atención a los huéspedes
Guests can ask me questions and I can usually help them with both little or big problems (phoning in Italian, contacting a doctor or pharmacist, recovering something left on a bus, explaining why speed limits aren't posted, etc.).

Heat is extra, about €0.40/hour, when it's on, usually only a few hours per day; use of my washing machine is €5 per load. There is a laundromat and 2 launderers in the town and wash can also be done by hand and hung inside or outside.
It's a good idea to close shutters when you're out, in case of rain; the village has recycling bins for plastic, metal, glass, paper, and organic garbage to be respected. Some pets might be allowed, but it's not an ideal set-up for them.
I'm a Canadian harpsichordist living in the medieval village center since 1981, right below my guest flat, and almost always on hand. I also direct a summer String Quartet Festival, now in its 21st season, held in Loro's Romanesque church, the Pieve di Gropina, a beautiful national monument (8th-12th century). The apartment is first of all for family and friends, but the "grape-vine" [ps this zone is Chianti delle Colline Aretine] has given me the pleasure of meeting people from afar and introducing them to Loro and the Valdarno [valley of the Arno river].
