we were a little bit surprised to get such review from this guest, frankly speaking. Let me explain why:
1. There was electricity all the time, just at night time there was low voltange in the power net. it means that ac operated but not for 100 % but for 75-85% of its power.
2. low voltage phenomenon that occurs in Bali during the peak season. The low voltage is not a problem cause by our property or technic but is caused by million of tourist cranking up power demand in the evening hours.
This means that instead of delivering 110 volt out of power outlet the power supply company provides us with just 95-100 volt of power. This causes all electric items to work with 10-15% less output. Mean all lamps are less bright and all ac are less effective by this smaller percentage of power you ca get out of the grid. we explained this to the customer, we called technician who installed transformer to correct the low voltage and in general we worked hard to satisfy the guest during his stay.
As you know Bali is part of Indonesia a developing third world country so this problems are well known and a part and parcel of travelling in such countries.
Please, (Hidden by Airbnb) "Bali low voltage" and you will see that this is well documented and wildly written about problem that can occur during peak season every year in December and August.
3. the guest could arrange everything he has planned during his stay.
4. as a compensations we have provided guest with discounted meals and freebies. We arranged a big Balinese performance for the guests and other activities to compensate for the problem.
We explained this and even showed the measurements in the villa directly to guests.
It is not cause by us or is within our influence. And by the way that doesn't mean that the guest was completely without electricity. that means that there was electricity, but it was not as effective as it used to be normally.
Around 9 rooms from total 12 rooms we could reroute ove the stability transformer so they did have full ac functionality all of the time other 3 rooms did have woring ac but those were working 85-90% of efficiency in the evening hours.
We couldn't have done more as for this issue.Therefore we are surprised to get such letter after his check out.
