The home is in the middle of the city and has wonderful access to everything you want to see in the city. Wonderful place for those who are vegetarian and vegan with the appliances you need to make juice, smoothies, and dehydrate, but not a requirement :) There is a yoga instructor and a cat living here some of the time and the other times are traveling for the weekend or week. The cat is still in the home and has an automatic feeder, automatic water, and only requires some love :)

There is a bedroom that two people can sleep in but if you want to bring more people you are welcome to if you have a sleeping bag or air mattress.

Everything was as described in the listing. This is a charming apartment with lots of character. As you enter there is a faint fragrance of incense that is nice but not overpowering. (Please take off your shoes.) There are all sorts of interesting paintings and artifacts throughout the house. There is a kind of southwestern vibe with hints of Georgia O'Keefe. Bed is very comfortable. Location was perfectly suited for getting around the city.

I nicknamed the house "Dreamcatcher Mansion" there's so much to see in the photos April puts on here but there's a lot more once you're actually in the house. And it's all great! Everything about the house let's off the most positive vibes and it is very comforting to be when you must need a day to stay inside. The neighborhood is quiet and is close to alot of areas via walking metro or Uber. The bed is absolutely fantastic. The bathroom has a curtain instead of a door but it's one the coolest things in the house! Lots of art all over. Kitchen is phenomenal. It's the type of place that makes you want to have your own house one day. I'll be back in dc in a few months and would absolutely love to stay here again!

April has an absolutely amazing place. It has a very creative and artistic feel to it. It's good for the soul. The room was plenty spacious and right next to the Metro. I felt like home the whole time I was there.

April was great about responding to our messages while we prepared for our trip. Our first night in April's apartment, we weren't able to get in touch with April, however, we were able to get in touch with other points of contact to answer some of our questions. A couple days later, April checked in with us to ensure that we were fine and explained that she was in a place that didn't have good data coverage the first couple of days that we were in her apartment. Although the information in the listing is accurate, the information is not complete. We were not expecting to be in an apartment where a renter was occupying the basement. If we had known that the basement was being rented out, we would have factored that into our decision-making process for choosing a place to stay while vacationing in DC. On the point of the renter, we could hear him while we stayed in the apartment quite well because he played his music loud enough for us to hear through the basement door. However, the music throughout our stay wasn't as loud as the first night when he was hosting an LP release party in the basement. One last point about the renter, on our last day in April's apartment, he knocked on the basement door and asked to be let in to check his mail. When my wife told him that we were leaving soon and asked if could wait when we were gone, he said no. He asked again to come in and check his mail. Although we didn't pick up any mail while in the apartment, we did notice mail next to the television. My wife picked up that mail and showed it to him. He looked through it, gave back the mail that wasn't his, and went back down stairs. One last point, we had issues with allergies while staying April's apartment. To reduce our symptoms, we spent some time dusting the apartment. We mentioned these points here along with others were brought to April's attention after we left, and she said that she would address them. On the point of the neighborhood, other reviews are correct about the street noise. Lights sleepers will do well with ear plugs. Also, the apartment is in a great location to pick up groceries and access the Georgia Ave. / Petworth metro station.

April's home was very warm, inviting, and eclectic, and you can tell she cares about making it that way for her guests. The house is right next to the metro, walking distance to plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops, and even a grocery store as well if you plan to cook. The only thing I would note for light sleepers would be the noise. Since it is in a busy area, that's something to keep in mind if you wake easily. I don't have that issue, and after walking everywhere each day, it was super esay to fall asleep every night, but I imagine it could be a deterrent for people who are light sleepers. Other than that, it was a great first airbnb trip, and my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time in DC at April's. Definitely recommend to others!
