A step up from camping = GLAMPING! Roomy tent located on the pacific ocean. Equipped with dishes, pots/pans and utensils. You also have your very own private bathroom. My tent is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). There is more than enough room for a few sleeping bags in the bedroom area :)

Disponible para huéspedes

Entire waterfront, deck with fireplace and bbq.

An absolutely perfect getaway! So romantic and a wonderful, quiet little piece of heaven. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

A quiet place to stay, shared bathroom outside of the sleeping arrangements. You will bring your bags up and down the driveway, as you can't park next to the glamping area. I personally wouldn't bring young kids, as there is a lot of debris on property near the water.

The tent is wonderful, the bed is fantastic, the views and the stars are out of this world. A real pleasure to spend a couple of lovely days in a remote corner of Brentwood Bay. There are other rentals on the property and the waterfront area is a common use space. The tent is right next to all of this, so while it is a romantic place, you might be sharing the view with other guests and the hosts. The pictures don't show some of the work in progress that is happening on the property. A good purge of unnecessary junk and debris would be a godsend to making the place more in keeping with what the photos show. Also, you are pretty far down a rural road. A good 15-20 minutes to the nearest corner store, make sure to bring what you need.

Proximity to the owner's home was awkward and could have been better noted. We were awoken before 7 am by a person speaking on the phone on their deck, then the heavy construction noise started and did not stop all morning. We could also hear outside dinner conversation in the evening and decided to eat elsewhere. The major construction site a few houses down ruins the experience and should have been noted in the ad. The walk to the outdoor washroom, which is adjacent to another room should also have been noted in the description. There is a fair amount of scrap material in the yard and in the fire pit, and broken glass on the waterfront. It was late at night when we used the fire pit (which we were invited to upon check-in and later told was illegal to use) and there was melamine inside under other wood which produced toxic fumes. The "host" refused to acknowledge these issues and instead replied very coldly to my concerns. She responded that the construction was disruptive to her sleep as well and that the toxic fumes were nothing to apologize for. We had higher expectations of a $200 tent, and at minimum were hoping for relaxation - we did have a few hours of that at night not knowing we were breathing toxic fumes.

Respuesta de Anne:
This place is a gas! A virtual summer camp for grownups. The people are fantastic, sociable and fun. People com from all over the world to visit Smokehouse Bay. It's classic glamping. :) The boathouse is over 100 years old and the old saw mill artifacts give it character and persoality. Smokehouse Bay was originally a sawmill. In the 1920s during US prohibition, it became a fishing lodge and brothel. Scuba diving, kayaking, boating. From watching the fireworks at Buchart Gardens, to sitting around the cozy outdoor fireplace, The property and the people are Awesome! :)

A very nice location in front of an absolute quiet cove. The accommodation in the tent is unusual and confortable. The equipment is satisfying. Given faraway food stores, maybe a couple of basic ingredients like coffee for example...We had a friendly welcome from Julie and Maron who were available;
