Experience luxurious camping conveniently located within walking distance of what Dublin city has to offer. Dublin City Tipi is located in a walled urban garden at the back of the host’s house 15 minutes walk to the city center. Croke Park Stadium is 5 minutes away so ideal for concerts or matches.
The Tipi was handmade and painted by the host, based on the design of an authentic Sioux Tipi.
It is a magnificent structure with an insulated timber floor covered in rugs and has electric power points for recharging phones etc. WIFI available.
There is an electric heater for heating the tipi on chillier nights.
The Tipi sleeps two people on two single ‘cube mattresses’ that can be joined to form a double bed or folded into chairs if you want to chill out during the day.
The beds are covered in duvets and pillows with extra blankets if needed. Both electric lighting and lanterns create a warm and exceptional cosy atmosphere.
There are several seated areas in the garden, each with their own individual charm.
There is a small kitchenette next to the tipi with kettle, toaster, fridge, cutlery, plates etc. Tea /coffee provided.
There are two potbelly BBQs at your disposal if you decide to cook or there are great local bars and restaurants two minutes away.
Next to the kitchenette is the shower. Towels and toiletries provided.
The WC is an original Victorian outhouse that is over 100 years old!
It has been brought up to the 21st century with the addition of an electric light and sink with running hot /cold taps.

The neighborhood is pretty quite, but if you’re truly looking for peace and quiet, this might not be the place for you as we are in the city so you can expect a certain level of noise. It’s also probably worth mentioning that Dublin City Tipi is adjacent to a railway line so expect the occasional train passing which in fact might the highlight of your stay if you are lucky enough to experience a steam train passing up close!
You are not going to have the tranquility of camping in the middle of nowhere.
You are in a Tipi one mile from the center of a busy city although it is a hell of a lot quieter than any ‘Quiet Camping Zone’ at any festival I’ve ever been to.
Earplugs are provided.
You might even be shocked at how surprisingly still the city can get at night.
I’d like to see more of this type of set up around Dublin and elsewhere, if anyone is interested, I’m happy to consult.
- Smoking or candles are strictly not allowed inside the Tipi but allowed anywhere outside. Please respect our neighbours, we ask that noise be kept to a minimum after 10pm.
