Located on the beach near Tee-Harbor, the cabin is south-facing for maximum sunlight and only a 15-minute drive from the most populated area of Juneau, the Mendenhall Valley, and associated Glacier. This house is a great base station for day excursions or a wonderful getaway in the quiet forest out the road.

El lugar

Sitting on the beach, the porch is equipped with built-in fire pit for relaxing evenings. The adjacent lawn can be utilized for sunny breakfasts or afternoon naps.

The cottage has a double bed that comfortably sleeps two and a fold out bed that easily sleeps two as well. Everything is cabin-sized, so the bathroom and kitchen are small but fully functional.

The living room has couch and seating for four with access to Netflix and AppleTV. No need to turn on the TV though, the living room looks out over Favorite Channel to Shelter Island where 90% of the whale watching tours bring their guests. It is very common to see humpbacks from the couch.

The office comes fully equipped with HDMI compatible monitor, USB keyboard and mouse and a scanner/printer if you have some work to do on your vacation.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests have full access to the house, porch, fire pit, lawn, and beach. There are lots of fun tide pools that are full of critters to explore at low tide!

Atención a los huéspedes

I have lived in Juneau my whole life. I have guided tours for years and worked in many of the restaurants in town. I am completely at my guests' disposal whether they need recommendations for self-guided hikes/tours or whether they want suggestions on guiding companies or the best restaurants around. I've got the insider info.

Otros aspectos destacables

This location is "out-the-road". It is only an 8-minute drive to the ferry terminal, a 15-minute drive to the Mendenhall Valley and a 30-minute drive downtown. If you don't have access to a car, we are not on the city bus route and will probably not be convenient for your stay.

Great Juneau gem for a three day fishing trip. Rustic, easy to get to cabin in a secluded spot to rest after a day fishing and touring. Quiet place, friendly host.

Fresh air, mountainous scenery, and wildlife in an environment that feels remote near neighbors! If you are looking for a very cozy place away from downtown Juneau but still close enough by car for several daily trips to the shopping and hiking, this is definitely a great spot! Perhaps not for everyone, we LOVED it. As long as you can live a bit simply, have only 2 people, and have a vehicle you will be comfortable here. Evan was very helpful online as soon as we booked it, although he was not on the property so we never met him. (I do not imagine we would have rented it if he was going to be there but that is just us.) The bathroom is very small and the shower stall is far from luxurious. That is all we would have changed. However, it is clean! The water pressure is great. This remote location appealed to us immensely as we had nearly constant visits from bald eagles and hummingbirds right outside the windows. Bed was comfortable enough (a double) and it was a clean place with a wonderful deck. The photos are exactly accurate. We loved the high ceiling and brightly lit space, the breeze we got with the windows open just before sleeping, and the shoreline views. It was a bit chilly on the deck two of our five nights there, but we sat out there every night for at least a little while. Sooo much better for us than any of the hotels we saw in town. We used his wifi and watched Netflix a couple times. No regrets from the two of us! Trees surround this cottage and the neighbors were nice. Very enjoyable stay!
