Garden Studio offers a full bed and private full bath, fridge, and desk space with garden setting for one or two guests in NW Seattle by Greenwood. Nearby find urban hiking at Carkeek Park on splendid Puget Sound: '220 acres of lush forest, meadows, wetlands, creeks, and beach formed by the magic of water and time', Garden Studio is at the end of the D-Line serving Ballard - downtown Seattle, nearby to east-bound transit, and nextdoor to a 24/7 QFC grocery.
Garden Studio is a bedroom with a private full bath on the ground floor of my Greenwood townhouse, looking out on a lush and relaxing garden with hummingbirds and forest birds. This space is ideal for one or two people in Seattle for work and play. It features a desk and two chairs, and full size wall bed with luxury mattress. Amenities include wi-fi, mini-fridge, coffee pot, toaster, coffee, and assorted teas.
In the closet, guests will find two luggage racks and space to hang their clothes.
We provide a BnB breakfast. Look in the fridge. Find yogurt, whole wheat Franz English muffins, butter, jelly, juicy drinks, coffee, and teas. The toaster is in the closet along with the hot pot for tea water. Each guest will be supplied a coffee cup and a water glass to use during their stay, along with a towel.
The smoking porch in the garden is covered during rain and most accessible when the wall bed is up.

I love the beach and the urban hike through Carkeek Park. The park entrance is pretty much right across the street from my home. Whether the salmon are returning to Piper's Creek in November or high winds are attracting the kite surfers any time of year, Carkeek Park is a great place to move the body while being in nature. I also love to garden and create spaces for sitting and watching the birds and the bees. My first career was in the hotel business, and I still enjoy creating spaces for guests to retreat and unwind as well as to work in new surroundings. I am all about art, creativity, and community. My profession is in fundraising development for arts nonprofits.
Garden Studio has always been a working studio. For years, I painted in here. Acrylics and oils have gone into a lot of paintings and self portraits. The garden has likewise been an evolving creation. Many paintings are of the garden. Paintings currently on view are acrylic and mixed media made en plein air at Harstine Island some years ago.
I aim to provide my guests a creative retreat with space to think and create along with opportunities to be in nature.
