Mid-century modern house in a quiet suburb of Washington DC. This is a neighborhood of mid-century modern homes, built in 1951. My house is a one-level with lots of natural light from large windows. The AirBnB room is part of an addition done in 2001.
The bedroom is large and comfortable. Shared bathroom, so the listing is suitable for women only. There are a few host belongings tucked into the corner and behind a curtained closet.
The house is overseen by a dog and two cats, so it's only recommended for pet lovers! It's also a Saturday pickup location for a Community Supported Agriculture, so you might go home with some farm-fresh organic vegetables in your suitcase.

You are welcome to use the kitchen, and there is a separate refrigerator in your bedroom. TV in the living room does not have cable, but does have Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is a nice deck out back where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage. Please note that I keep honey bees in the back on the deck, but bees are not aggressive unless they feel under attack.
Atención a los huéspedes
I work from home, so I am around to answer questions and make suggestions for places to visit. Part of the fun of hosting is to meet new people, so if you are up conversation, I am too, but if you prefer your peace and quiet, I can respect that as well. Little Man, a rather large cat, will keep his distance, but Alice, the other cat, might want to be petted. Charlie, the dog, will want to meet you at first.

Traveling up Gallows Road from the house, you are minutes from Fairfax Hospital, so the location would be perfect if you are here to work at or visit a loved one in the hospital. A few more blocks up the road is a fabulous thrift store, if you have some extra time for thrifting! Then a few blocks farther is the Mosaic District, an area of shops and diverse restaurants. Continuing on, it's just a few minutes' drive to the metro, which is an easy way to get to downtown DC for world-class museums, excellent restaurants, monuments and, of course, the U.S. government buildings.
Request quiet time between 11 PM and 8 AM.
