Anne's unique place was a perfect secluded getaway for us. It may not suit everyone however if you're after a basic, open, no thrills place with a lifestyle in the outdoors then Anne's place is for you. I really enjoyed the bar table, the outdoor shower, the still mornings, relaxing days and quiet evenings. The proximity to Berry springs for a safe fresh water swim (a must do) and the Darwin River Tavern were brilliant. You can grab a few takeaways to really appreciate the bar table. One night it rained and with the sound on the tin roof was bliss. I hadn't slept that well for quite some time. I left rather refreshed making it difficult to back to work.

We had a wonderful time at Anne&Rob's unique bush haven. They are really friendly helpful interesting hosts. Leave the city behind, and just be peacefully in the bush with birdsong. Perfect time relaxing in the outdoors! I loved the 'loo with a view'! We slept comfortably under mozzie nets. A big fridge is provided to keep your provisions cool. The open air hot shower has terrific pressure. Great coffee & percolator provided to start your day! Within easy reach by car, to Berry Springs. Free entry to natural warm mineral pools. We enjoyed hours of swimming, before enjoying a great meal in the Berry Springs pub. Crazy Acres mango farm close to Berry Springs, has a cafe & delicious banana or mango icecream! A full day exploring all the sights of Litchfeild National Park is another great local attraction.

SECLUDED & PEACEFUL RETREAT I stayed at Anne & Rob’s “piece of paradise” as they describe it, for two nights. I was their first Airbnb guest in this standalone donga (bungalow). Anne and Rob were very friendly and helpful hosts. If I needed anything they were only a phone call away, or a walk of a hundred metres or so along a bush track through dry monsoonal forest to their house. When I was there, purple Turkey bush and vibrant orange Honey Grevilleas were in flower along the way. The facilities in my accommodation were simple but sufficient. A kettle, microwave, gas stove, fridge, and most importantly an excellent queen bed and mattress where I slept soundly in the quiet of the bush. Everything was clean. I bought my own food to cook, but also ate one evening at the Litchfield Pub which is about 10 minutes away. Anne and Rob’s place is well located. If you want to go for a swim, Berry Springs is about 15minutes drive away. It is also close to Litchfield National Park where there are plenty of waterfalls and swimming holes. I went to the Northern Territory Wildlife Park which is excellent and also very close. Sitting on the bungalow’s porch in the cool and calm of the morning - with honeyeaters (birds) flitting about as the sun filtered through the sand palms – I thought this is the place to be if you fancy somewhere quiet and “far from the madding crowd”.
