Staying at our place in Baker Street, St Kilda will make your stay in Melbourne one to remember. Experience Melbourne using the highly sort-after beachside suburb of St Kilda as your base - with a wonderful stylish and comfortable home to come back to when you’re not out exploring.
We have a beautiful architect designed family-sized home with a large green garden and swimming pool, located only 5 minutes walk from the famous St Kilda Beach and Acland Street. Our house has a Victorian façade which blends into the streetscape but you step inside to a modern architect designed sun-filled home.
St Kilda attracts visitors from all over the world. It is located only 6km from Melbourne's CBD and is situated next to the sparkling waters of Port Philip Bay. It's a bright vibrant location full of restaurants, cafes and bars. Within walking distance of our house is the famous Palais Theatre, Luna Park, the Esplanade Hotel [the Espy], Acland Street and Fitzroy Street. St Kilda Beach is Melbourne's most famous beach, great for people watching on a summers day, but it is also a great area for long walks and cycling.
Our 2-level family home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large open-plan living area with a separate dining zone, a separate tv room, a huge outdoor deck, garden and a swimming pool. It is full of all modern conveniences including 2 TV's, sonos music system, wireless internet and coffee machine.
BEDROOMS There are 3 bedrooms. A very spacious master bedroom upstairs with king size bed, ensuite and deck overlooking rear yard; a second large bedroom with a queen size bed, a super-sized kids bedroom with a built in single bed and options for two further beds suitable for children.
LIVING AREAS Kitchen/Dining/Living with Danish table setting for 8, large lounge setting with flat screen tv [hidden in cabinet]. The dining and living areas open up on to the large deck area that over looks the garden and swimming pool area. In addition to this area is a smaller room with a tv where you can get away [or the kids can]. The master bedroom also has an area where you can relax which opens onto a pleasant deck over looking the garden.
KITCHEN Fully equipped with large refrigerator, Miele gas stove top and oven, microwave/convection oven, dishwasher and separate drinks fridge. Great BBQ situated on the outdoor deck.
LAUNDRY Upstairs laundry with washing machine, drying racks opening onto small deck area designed for drying clothes.
OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING AREAS The large deck area has an outdoor table setting for 8. It is shaded by the pergola with canvas blinds that are rolled out in the hotter summer months. The swimming pool is 4m x 8.5m long with a built-in spa. It is enclosed with a glass pool fence that can be secured however small children must be supervised in this area at all times. Within the pool enclosure are sun lounges to relax on. Behind the pool area is a convenient toilet and outdoor shower.
GARAGE Wide double garage at rear of property - but will likely house our cars. It is safe to park cars on the street out front. In the garage are also a few bikes that can be used.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT Light rail transport is available into the city from Acland Street, which is a 5-minute walk. There is also a public bus stop nearby.
LOCAL AMENITIES Acland Street is full of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and bars. St Kilda beach is close by, as is the more family-friendly Elwood Beach. There is a world-class skate park near St Kilda Beach alongside a fabulous park with public BBQ facilities. Walk or cycle along the walking/bike track that runs along the beach, between the CBD and Brighton Yacht club. Not far away is Elwood Village with quite a different ambience to Acland Street, also full of cafes, restaurants and a range of shops. There are heaps of things to do in this area. Please note that this house is our home and so we ask that you treat it with respect and don’t smoke inside the house. It is ideally suited to a family or a small group of adults.

PLEASE NOTE - currently we have only listed our house as available from 14 January 2016 to 25 January 2016. The minimum booking period we will accept during this time is a one week booking. A booking will need to be made before 10 January 2016 so that we can get the house ready for guests.
This is our home so arrangements need to be made a reasonable time in advance so that we can organise ourselves!
We are also interested in house swaps with ski destinations in Europe, USA & Japan, and the European summer. Please enquire if you are interested.

We have lived in our St Kilda house for about 10 years and absolutely love the lifestyle and amenity that our home and the area provide. We are keen sailors and members of nearby Royal Melbourne yacht Squadron in St Kilda. We use the nearby parks and beach to keep fit and love walking and cycling to our favourite nearby cafes.
Jan runs an environmental consulting business and I am a specialised business consultant. This provides us with some flexibility so when we’re not working we love to travel with our son 10-year old son Linus – anywhere that’s interesting where we can mix up culture, adventure, good food and music.
