Our stay with Guillaume has been fantastic! As a host communication with Guillaume was good before we came and he was there to greet us. It was really hot 38C+ when we were there and Guillaume ran out and bought a spray-device for the hose, it was great fun for my son to play with during the heatwave :-) so sweet! On the second day of our week stay my 8 year old son asked when Guillaume was coming back, he was so disappointed when I told him we were on our own, he liked him and thought he should visit every day…my kid is a good judge of character. During the last day of our stay our flight was cancelled and we couldn’t leave for another day. Guillaume arranged so we could stay another day and even turned down a request and I think lost several days rent to accommodate us, as he told a AirBnB rep that he didn’t want my son to be inconvenient, in my opinion Guillaume is not only a great host but a caring, generous person.
The flat was great, it has just been remodelled so everything was brand new, everything you need but no clutter and amazing space for your stuff. It was perfectly clean and it felt more like staying in a fresh apartment hotel, we loved it. Towels, sheets, washer, dishwasher, everything for the kitchen and maintenance was there. There is the amazing terrace, and it’s very private, I told G to take new pictures, they don’t do it full justice. We loved hanging out there and spent most of our home-time there.
The street isn’t noisy and the apartment is towards the back but there is still movement on the street which makes it feels comfortable coming home at night. On one end of the street is the top part of Belleville parc, the views of Paris are to die for, we started every morning and ended every night there! Yes we were being geeky tourists gawking at the Eiffel tower and all the other sights of the Paris skyline but charmingly there are hardly any tourists so people around are genuinely friendly and welcoming. There are bakeries on both ends of the short street, a few restaurants and lovely busy streets adjacent that are filled with bakeries, shops, restaurants from all parts of the world, crepe places and everything else you want. There is an estate almost opposite the house that if you wander in from curiosity has the most amazing street art, which a lot of streets are full of in the area. Belleville is such a vibrant, friendly, eclectic and multicultural area and we felt right at home. Two metros are under 5 minutes away and other good bus routes to Marais etc.
I strongly recommend this place and hope to return!
