Bright, beautiful, private, and comfortable Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home in the center of Boulder. Unique property in this coveted neighborhood blocks away from historic Chautauqua Park, the Flatirons, endless open space, and trails. Walking distance to the CU Boulder Campus and a short walk or easy bike ride to Downtown Boulder, Pearl Street, Boulder Creek, and Farmer's Market. The beautiful property is 1/3 acre and fenced with plenty of room for kids (or adults) to getaway and play.
Welcome to our beautiful home in the Lower Chautauqua neighborhood. You'll realize how close to everything in Boulder you are as soon as you arrive!
Private off street parking in our rear 2 car driveway off the alley makes unpacking your car simple. Once on the property, you'll appreciate how you can flow easily between the lovely indoor and outdoor spaces on this triple lot.
As soon as you enter the home you'll appreciate the open and creative aesthetic that Frank Lloyd Wright is known for. From the entry, you'll see the large kitchen is on the left, the dining area straight ahead, and the large living area just beyond that. You'll see the mid century modern architectural design in the bright, warm, inviting, and open living spaces with abundant stone and wood. Many windows look south and west to the large patio and landscaped yard.
To the right of the entryway we have storage for shoes and other belongings. Beyond that there's a private office with a separate sink and a wine fridge. This space is perfect for private work or conference/video calls. The washer and dryer are inside a large closet in this room as well.
The large kitchen is fully outfitted for cooking family meals. Double dishwashers and an AGA range make cooking and cleaning up super easy. Again, you'll enjoy the view out into the yard to the South and West from the large and open kitchen.
The Dining room table expands with 3 leaves to seat up to 12 people but is normally set for 8 among many windows that make you feel like you're outside. Dining outside is also a great summertime option. The patio has a gas grill and string lights covering the entire courtyard to brighten and warm the space after dark.
As you walk through the living area you'll find a large gas fireplace on the right and 2 couches and chairs for family time and game playing. There is also a stereo connected to wifi where you can play your music streaming from your phone or computer. There are speakers in the living and dining area and speakers can be moved outdoors to the patio if you like music while dining outdoors. In the living room room there is also an art/game table for quality family time.
As you continue back through the living room is the alternative house entrance with coat closet and guest bath (1/2 bath) designed with unique materials including flagstone, slate, and wood. The slate floors lead to the kid's full bathroom spacious enough for a gaggle of children. The hall continues to the 3 kids bedrooms which sleeps 4 kids comfortably because one room has a trundle bed. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are large and bright with large windows and closet space/dressers. Window coverings make them dark sleeping spaces. The 3rd kids bedroom is smaller but very cozy and dark for sleeping. This room is perfect for a younger child and has no closet of it's own.
Further down the hall is the Master Suite! This addition is very spacious with high ceilings and a King sized temperpedic mattress. The walk in closet provides ample space for your belonging. A separate bathroom includes double sinks, a jet tub large enough for 2 (and maybe a few kids), a shower large enough for 2, and a Japanese style "Washlet" Toto toilet. If you've never tried one, you may have a hard time leaving ;). The bedroom and bathroom also have large windows and skylights which look out to the courtyard and large treed yard making you feel like you're in a private park. Window coverings keep the morning sun out.
The house is shaped like a U and surround the courtyard which has nice south and west exposure. The house and property feels like a big hug.
Independent of the main house is a guest house which may be rented separately. If you rent the main house, the guest house will not be included unless you request it. Please call or email us if you're interested. The garage attached to the guest house acts as storage for our belongings while we're gone and will be locked. However a shed near the back of the property will be usable and includes a few bikes for guests to use while visiting. 2 adult cruiser bikes and 1 adult mountain bike (26 inch wheel size) are available to use including locks and helmets for your trips around town.

Lower Chautauqua is across Baseline from University student rental housing. Periodic party noise is possible though rare in the summer months as students are away. However, Boulder is a party town which is one reason we all love it! If you have a problem with noise, just call Boulder noise ordinance line at ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)and the city puts an end to it very quickly.
