Enjoy a unique setting on our 40-acre farm nestled at the dead end of the road in the beautiful Kettle Moraine region. Quiet, private bedroom with use of fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, sitting areas, and spectacular views. Feed the chickens and gather eggs if you are so inclined. Bottle feed our goat kids, and milk their mother. Savor private walks in the woods and fields.
We offer more than just a room, for those interested. Misty Moraine is a working farm, with dairy goats, bees, chickens and more. Check out our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page, Misty Moraine Creamery, to see all of the cool things going on throughout the year. We celebrate each season here on the farm, and invite you to join us.
The bed in the Sage Room has a very firm IKEA mattress with a gel foam topper. The topper can be removed upon request; just let me know. The sheets are Egyptian cotton, 600 thread count.

Contact us for details on how you can experience this place during any season. Spring brings goat kids (born April 16!) , baby chicks (arrived May 17), installation of new bee hives (done May 14), and preparation of garden beds. During the summer, we milk goats, make cheese, tend our bee hives, and pasture-raise our chickens. In the fall, we extract honey and honeycomb from the beehives, preserve the garden harvest with canning and drying, make jams and jellies, and put up fermented vegetables. In winter, we make soap, plan our garden, and make tinctures and salves from plants we harvested.
Hunting: We offer exclusive hunting privileges at a cost of $150 per day. We are surrounded by more than 600 acres of "dead" land; i.e., no road access. There are many deer and turkeys, and a few pheasants and wild ducks. Update: more baby chicks and turkey poults arrived on August 18. They are still pretty cute!

Please note that we do not have central air conditioning. We don't like it, and it's rarely needed in Wisconsin! We do have a few window units that we can install if requested.
We are out in the country, so wifi connection is not always perfect. We pay for the best connection we can get, but it may not be what you're accustomed to in the city. And sometimes--it goes down.
Make advance arrangements if you are interested in learning about foraging, maple sugaring, soap making, home dairying (making cheese, yogurt, kefir and butter), or other activities you see on our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Misty Moraine Creamery page. There is always something interesting going on! Additional charges apply.
I am a semi-retired attorney living on a 40-acre farm in Wisconsin. I keep bees and raise chickens and goats. I make cheese and soap from the goats' milk, and enjoy raising as much of my own food as possible. I also enjoy foraging for wild food. Here on the farm we have many wild edibles and an abundance of plants that I use for food and medicine. I work for a non-profit organization called the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. My three children are grown now, and I'm enjoying traveling the world.
