Dave and Petra Rael are both Taos natives who feel a deep appreciation for the local cultures and traditions of their community. Dave is a teacher by trade and continues to teach at the University of New Mexico, Taos Branch. He also developed Dave's Custom Cycle in Taos, a Harley-Davidson Custom and service shop which included retail. Dave has retired from that business and decided to custom build a casita instead. His philosophy, 'if you can't go to the mountains, you bring the mountains to you'. At the completion of his casita, he decided to dedicate the casita in memory of his sister Linda. Hence the name,
Casita Linda which also has double meaning, 'beautiful little house'.
