We are a Bed and Beauty but you can do some light cooking. The Sundeck Suite has a garden-view kitchenette, where you can prepare what you want to eat breakfast at home, prepare picnics, order "take out" from excellent cafes and watch a movie,or enjoy magnificent sunsets on the fantastic deck. The Cozy and Garden have small appliances, food prep and dining areas. We do have a washing machine, clothesline, iron, available, and a dryer if necessary.
All rooms have decks and access to garden seating. You can use our outside washer and clothesline and for a $10 fee per load have me do your laundry and dry it in my machines. The sun is almost always available and I can take usually your laundry off the line while you're out having fun. There is no smoking anywhere in or near the house and rooms,or guests. Compost is put in a special container for our gardens and recycle bins are available. We ask that you conserve electricity as much as practical, turn off lights and fans when leaving, and close the Sundeck's northern window in case of rain while you're out and about. Please park facing our basketball court or at least out of the way from other guests. We have plenty of room . We appreciate your kokua!
Our usual policy is a 3 night minimum because there is so much to see and do here and within easy, scenic drives, but we will do our best to accommodate you for one or two nights. This is a smoke free guesthouse but there are lots of open spaces . It's usually pretty quiet here, especially after 10 or 11 pm,unless we're all having a good time together.
We have had 95% wonderful experiences with fantastic guests from all over the world. It's Hawaii's custom to remove your shoes when entering. We ask that everyone be considerate, try to be quiet(no dancing on the Sundeck with loud shoes) after 10 pm and before 9 am, unless we all agree to have a party to watch the full moon!

For 40 years I've loved living in awesome North Kohala, fell in love with my special property when I first saw it in 1974,raised 3 children "roughing it" but loving adventures in a rural community, adopted 6 and fostered 7,taught school as a sub, K-12 ,painted landscapes in oil around the island before the family expanded to 9+ diverse kids, now want to resume my passion for creativity, hosted many musicians and folks interested in sustainable living, healthy choices, loving each other,God and country, and appreciation for our uniquely wonderful treasures here at the end of the rainbow.
I've really enjoyed meeting guests from all over the world and have made some lifetime friendships.Come visit,we hope you'll fall in love with the joys of North Kohala too, create wonderful memories with family and friends,(even business partners) and return for many visits! My daughter reminds me to "always keep smiling"…it's catching!
