El apartamento de Andrea es precioso y muy grande. En una zona y un edificio con mucho encanto. Lo único que echamos en falta fue más iluminación en el salón (solamente había una lámpara pequena y había que bajar a la cocina para leer).

Dear Sapir, it's a real shame that you decided to leave such an unfair review. The reason is pretty clear to me: you have asked for a FULL refund (obviously refused) because the battery in the TV remote controller needed to be replaced. You request was preposterous and despite I ran the extra mile you really tried hard to take advantage of this really minor issue ( TV remote battery...) I sent someone with new batteries on the same day and following your instructions I left it under the mat outside the apartment. Unfortunately the cleaner of the building throwed the paper bag with batteries away dismissing it as garbage. I then sent new batteries the day after and suggested in the meantime to buy batteries yourselves and refund the cost of it. Sadly the review system overtime has evolved from useful tool for prospective guests to extortion means against hosts. In a few words this is what happen with some guests : 'if you don't give me what I want I will leave not a good review... ' Upon arrival you did not meet with some 'random guy', what does it even mean? You have met with someone of my staff, I'm sorry we didn't meet in person but I happened to be on vacation myself. According to the messages exchanged between you and me, you were actually 30 minutes late, I wish I could attach a screenshot as a proof. The 'random guy' explained thoroughly everything you need to know about the apartment. There is a dishwasher for plates and dishes so while I'm surprised to hear that everything was dirty (according to your comment) I think the solution would have been pretty easy, either to call me as you did several times for the €1.50 worth it battery or stick everything in the dishwasher. The Wi-Fi I'm afraid is not listed amongst the amenities and on the description as you have confirmed ( a bit of honesty finally) it's clearly explained and outlined. We are waiting for an ADSL installation, in the meantime we provide a courtesy 3g router which works fine but of course it's not very fast. The musky odor as explained in the previous review it's depending on the sewer system of Florence which is very old and in the summer, when it's not been raining for quite a long time, can give this issue. The solution is to keep the plugs in the drains closed, as the 'random guy' suggested to do upon arrival, but it has nothing to do with the apartment. In regards to the other comments I respect the fact you did not like the minimalist ( on purpose) style of the apartment but I assume that by the photos it's clear what you get.

Dear Robin, as I wrote on your review you have been a very difficult guest. I personally called you to apologise nad sent you also an email but your reaction was really out of line and disrespectful. You arranged your check in for 3pm, sent us a message that you were arriving 30 minutes earlier and then again that you were arriving at 3pm. This is not an hotel with a 24 hours reception but an apartment. The check in guy was already in the apartment because you told us first that you were arriving earlier, and then you told us you were not. So the poor guy was waiting inside until you made up your mind. Nonetheless I apologised and tried to calm you down but you have been unreasonable. I also explained you that Florence is a very old city with a very old sewer system. As it's not been raining for a long time you can have that kind of smell coming from the sink drain, especially on the ground floor, but there is an easy fix i.e. to close the drain with the plug. There is no strange smell in the apartment and as you said it has been mentioned one time only out of many reviews for the very same reason. In regards to the city tax we are obliged by law to ensure that it has been collected, I don't understand your surprise. It's written very clearly in the house rules and Airbnb is supposed to collect it, if they don't we do it. It's also written that by law we are required to report to the police all the guests staying in the apartment and therefore we need their ID I'm afraid. I strongly suggest you to read all the info before you book another apartment on Airbnb and on a side note to be more polite and leave the apartment in a better condition upon departure, thank you. It's a shame that Airbnb allows this kind of feedback which not reflects the real experience ruining our efforts and our hard work.

Dear Justin, I have to admit the communication with you was everything but easy. We have a simple request for our guest which is to provide arrival info through a link to our management system. You labelled our request as ‘annoying’ making our job complicated without a real reason. As far as we know there is no strange smell in the apartment, a quick look to other reviews should suffice to understand. And the standard of the cleanliness is always the same, professional and accurate. If there was something wrong you should have addressed the problem straightaway. In regards to the check in, our guy upon arrival is happy to give as many info as possible. Of course there is a limit of knowledge , for extravagant requests such yours there is the famous web search engine ready to answer your curiosity. The WiFi was not working because of an issue of the network that unfortunately has been afflicting Florence in many areas in the last couple of weeks. I guess you did not really pay attention upon arrival, as we always explain how to use the 2 AC units. Of course it’s important to set the unit in cooling mode but this is common sense. Overall not a good experience and not a good feeling in dealing with you. Most of the times we enjoy having easy going people, this time it was not the case.
