Usually I procrastinate writing reviews but we had such a wonderful stay at Cristina and Franco's home that I'm actually excited to write this one. We came to Colorado to see our good friends get married in Boulder. Their wedding happened to be on the same weekend as an Iron Man and a Dead Show, so accommodations in Boulder around this time were nonexistent. We found Cristina's house in Erie and booked reluctantly, the house itself looked perfect for our family, but Erie? The town's website doesn't do a whole lot to promote the place. However we booked anyway and when we arrived we were immediately put at ease. The house is lovely, lots of space for our family of 4 plus the grandparents who came along. Cristina and Franco had set out towels and toiletries, the kitchen and pantry were well stocked with all manner of cooking utensils and spices, there were plenty of awesome toys for our kids to play with (tons of legos, a doll house, a kitchen set, stuffed animals, lots of books- I mean our kids were in heaven!). The house itself is comfortable, open, and bright. We ate meals on the deck in the sunshine and sat on the front porch and watched our kids play in the evening. It's located with in a few blocks of a nice park and play area and with in walking distance to the Erie Community Center. Which leads me to the town of Erie, it's a really nice little place. We visited the Community Center several times to swim, work out, and play in the field and playground. Downtown is small but nice with historic brick buildings and a great farmers market on Thursdays. We hit up a couple breweries, the ice cream parlor, and a tasty restaurant called 24 Carrots. We were also in and out of Denver snd Boulder several times though out the week for the wedding and other fun adventures. Erie is literally 25 minutes from Boulder and 30 minutes from Denver- so close! Anyway, I'm going on and on, we were just so pleased by the whole experience. I give this house 2 thumbs up, I highly recommend that you stay at Cristina and Franco's place.
