El alojamiento
This unique property is a retired Wisconsin dairy farm that boasts a large and beautifully designed custom home on 8.5 acres with multiple historic outbuildings, including an iconic red barn, an old stone house dating to the mid 1800’s, and a huge greenhouse being brought back to life. Come now to see a young flower farm started in 2016 and return every year to watch it flourish.

There are three separate AirBnb listings for Old Stone House Farm -- the Sunflower Room, the Lavender Room and a 3rd listing that combines the two rooms for groups of 2-8 people. If one room is booked, check to see if the other is available, or consider booking both rooms for your group.

Acceso para huéspedes
Two large and comfortable private rooms are available in our gorgeous custom-designed home. There are three separate AirBnb listings for Old Stone House Farm -- the Sunflower Room, the Lavender Room and a 3rd listing that combines the two rooms for groups of 2-8 people. If one room is booked, check to see if the other is available, or consider booking both rooms for your group.

The Lavender room has a comfortable queen-sized bed as well as twin day bed with twin trundle that can be pulled out when needed, and a desk and sitting area. The Sunflower room, listed separately, has a queen bed as well as a double futon sofa for relaxing and extra sleeping space when needed. There is plenty of space in either room for a portable crib or pack-n-play. Each room has ample closet and dresser space for clothes and full-length mirror(s).

There are two staircases leading from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor where the bedrooms and bath are located. One is a wide, carpeted stairway from the front entry area that is also equipped with an electric stair lift for ease of accessibility for mobility-impaired guests. The second staircase is a spiral staircase leading from the B&B rooms directly to the kitchen and backyard patio doorway.

The large B&B bathroom on the second floor is shared with other guests that may be present at the time of your visit. The shared bathroom is large and comfortable in a central location on the same floor and within 12 feet from each bedroom. The door into the bathroom from the shared hallway locks for privacy. There is a separate toilet room and shower room within the bathroom, each with their own locking doors. There is ample counter space to keep toiletry items in the bathroom if you should choose to, along with a double sink and mirror set-up. There is also a half-bathroom (toilet and sink) off the kitchen on the 1st floor available for guest use.

The cozy piano room and library on the first floor serves as a living room space for guest use. It looks out onto the front yard and flower farm. It shares a two-way wood-burning fireplace with the family living room which can be lit during winter months if arranged with us ahead of time.

Start your day with a pot of delicious hot coffee we’ll prepare for you and set right outside your room in the shared kitchenette space. Depending on our schedule and what’s happening on the farm, we'll give you some options for breakfast that will be served on the 1st floor in the kitchen’s large eating area. Please let us know well in advance if you have dietary allergies or preferences such as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. You can eat at our breakfast bar, the dinette table, or outdoors on the patio if you like, weather permitting.

For other meals, we are happy to recommend several excellent options within a 3-mile to 30-mile drive. The small shared kitchenette space located in the hallway between the two rooms on the second floor is also available for your use to warm up leftovers or prepare simple meals. The kitchenette is furnished with a dorm-sized refrigerator, a microwave, dishes and silverware, as well as information about local restaurants, amenities, and places to visit while in the area. A bistro table with seating for two is in the hallway outside the two rooms. Additional seating is always available on the back patio, weather permitting.

You're invited to walk the property and explore the flower farm! Use your stay here as a home base to explore the area or visit family and friends that live nearby. Enjoy the gorgeous hilltop views of Wisconsin farmland, beautiful no matter what the season. Ask if the historic outbuildings, including the Old Stone House which is our farm's namesake, are available for a tour. You will enjoy walking the paths of the specialty cut flower beds in spring, summer and fall. Enjoy those same flowers, fresh cut, in your room and ask if a custom bouquet can be made for you to purchase for use while here or to take home with you!

Otros aspectos destacables
Our friendly pets (a Golden Retriever and a domestic cat) share our home. This means normal occasional barking and possible exposure to animal dander and random pet hair. Guests can expect social human-animal interaction with the Golden Retriever, Bernard, (when you arrive, are in public parts of the house or on the patio) and with the cat Charlie (at other random times throughout the house including guest areas). There are dog-free areas, including the guest room hallway and the guest rooms. Like all cats, however, Charlie is harder to contain. Unlike all cats, he is social and super friendly. He also takes well to limit-setting if you’d rather him go elsewhere.

Our pets love having company, will greet you with enthusiasm, and will appreciate any affection you have to share during your visit. Our guests tell us they love getting to know our animals! That being said, if you or someone you're traveling with is NOT comfortable with animals and with the occasional inconvenience any household pet may cause, or if you suffer from dander allergies, you may be happier staying somewhere else.

Durante tu estancia
Our home welcomes and celebrates diversity of every sort and is LGBT-friendly. Everyone is welcome at Old Stone House Farm.

Count on having as much privacy or interaction as you like. We will follow your lead. Old Stone House Farm is a working farm, and one or both of us will most likely be on property and available for questions, directions or conversation. Our home is also home to an adult son who works for us and one of our elderly mothers.

Events, parties or extra visitors besides registered guests are allowed and welcomed. We love to share our beautiful home and property, including our flower farm and design studio, even providing a tour of the historic outbuildings, the greenhouse, or the flower fields....weather and workload permitting, of course. Please share your wishes in this regard in advance of booking so that we can confirm that the plans will work for us and for the space and if there would be any related additional charge.

During our growing season, fresh flowers from our farm will grace your room. Additional floral arrangements may be ordered in advance for any special occasion or as gifts for people you are visiting while in the area. Please let us know in advance if you’d like to order a floral arrangement. We use only farm-grown or locally grown or foraged botanicals and use sustainable design practices.

We'll be happy to make suggestions for restaurants and attractions across the region. Cherie grew up in nearby Port Washington. We both lived in Milwaukee for many years, and nearby West Bend for five years, so we have experience from which to speak!
