Excellent traditional style place to stay. Very clean. A bit of a walk (15mins - 20mins) from Nara park but that is only an issue when carrying bags to and fun Nara station. Really enjoyed staying here, great price.

Tarbo and Kenta’s apartment is one of four in the building. It is very compact, perhaps a little too confined for four adults like our group. The lounge/dining area needs to be converted to a bedroom at night for a group of our size and then the people in the designated bedroom need to walk through this space to access the bathroom. Both kitchen and bathroom are tiny but functional. We very much appreciated the fact that the dining chairs, although legless, at least had backs to offer some comfort for weary tourists. The apartment is close to Nara Park and the major attractions, but is 30 minutes walk from JR Nara Station, so a taxi will be helpful for transport with luggage. Communication was excellent before and during the stay. Overall, this apartment offers good value for couples or small families staying for just a night or two.

Basic Japanese style accommodation within a 4 apartments building. Well maintained and conveniently located, within walking distance to restaurants and temples. Friendly and reactive communication with Tarbo & Kenta. Somehow quite expensive for the size and amenities.

Dear reader, We got in earlier than the suggested check-in time, because it was raining. The cleaning person had just started and he said he would be done in 20 minutes. When we came back, he had simply hosed down the bathroom, which was wet for the rest of the stay as a result of the "cleaning measures". The images shown on the web suggest a quite different apartment than the one we got. The bathroom was just a bit larger than a common plane toilet. Also, it was built in the same way than a plane toilet. As for the noise, we could hear each other scratch our bottoms even though we stayed in different rooms. Indeed, the rooms are just divided by a glass door, which doesn't deserve to be called a door in the first place. To finish up, the duvets and pillows were still reeking of the guests who had just left. The only good thing about this airbnb was that we left the next morning and stayed just for the one night.

Hello, Bonjour and 你好 everyone! I'm Tarbo.

I am super friendly, outgoing, and down to earth. One of my favorite pastimes is socializing with other people. And also, I love reading books. I’m more interested in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and philosophy than manga and anime. Sorry for all you Japanese manga and anime lovers!

I was born in Osaka, but grew up in Kyoto and am now living in Nara. Also, I used to live in Tokyo, Nagoya and Fukuoka, which means I know about most of the big cities in Japan. I studied Architecture in Boston, Massachusetts. After coming back to Japan, I decided to start my own design company called “Shortline,” where we design graphics and build websites. One of the big projects we worked on was a logo for UNEP.

I decided to start Airbnb because I want to meet people from around the globe, travel all over the world and become more fluent in English. In addition, I am currently learning French and Chinese and I want to use this opportunity to learn more languages. Also, I’ll love to teach you all some Japanese or bad bad Japanese slang if you’d prefer. I’m really excited to learn about new cultures and teach you about mine. However, I'm not referring to superficial information like who’s famous now and etc., but much deeper things such as the problems of your country, immigrants, religion, politics, minorities, sexual customs, new technologies and new venture businesses. But yeah we don't have to talk about these kinds of things if you’re not interested. Just enjoy playing with the deer and enjoy Japan. Let's have tons of fun!
