"Vasa Guest House" is the upstairs of my Victorian cottage in Traverse City's Old Town Neighborhood. The upstairs of my house is a sun-filled space with many large windows.
This is a great location from which to explore everything Traverse City has to offer! The Oryana Natural Foods Co-operative is directly across the street and the Boardman Lake Trail is close-by. Downtown Traverse City's business district is just a short walk away (about six blocks).

El alojamiento
One great thing about "Vasa Guest House" is Oryana! The Oryana Community Cooperative (a natural foods market/cafe) is directly across the street and is one of Traverse City's most beloved traditions. It's a great place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee, hang out, perhaps hear some live music, and make new friends.
Boardman Lake is a few hundred yards away and there is a walking/biking trail around it which connects to Traverse City's extensive recreational trail system. Even though Vasa Guest House is in the middle of a busy city sometimes you can hear loons when they are flying overhead!

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests will have a bedroom, a closet, and a large bathroom that will be entirely their own and which has a separate entrance for their use. There is an old-fashioned front porch with rocking chairs that you will be welcome to use. Kitchen access is not provided at this time - Oryana is a great option and there are other cafes and restaurants close by. There is a small refrigerator, an electric tea kettle, and a coffee maker.

Otros aspectos destacables
My house is 120 years old. As was common years ago there is a steep winding stairway to the second floor and there is a claw-footed bathtub (with a shower) in the bathroom. And so Vasa Guest House is not handicapped accessible and would not be a good location for someone with mobility concerns.
I live in a quiet residential neighborhood where the houses are close together and so there is an expectation that guests will be quiet and considerate of the neighbors.
Vasa Guest House is registered and licensed by the City of Traverse City as a Tourist home.
Because of Covid-19 I am scheduling two full days between guest visits so that the guest spaces can be fully ventilated with fans for 24 hours and then thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
There is wifi available but there is no television.

I am retired from a career as a merchant marine officer sailing on the Great Lakes. Now I enjoy travel, cycling, cross-country skiing, and exploring the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. I’ve enjoyed airbnb when traveling so now I’m looking forward to sharing my home with others!
