A most beautiful and rustic place! Carrie was a truly warm and wonderful host. All her little touches she made it special and the highlights included falling asleep to the sound of the brook, the farm tour in the morning and holding a goat!!!!

This was our second time staying at the cabin and it gets harder and harder to leave. Carrie is so accommodating and takes the time out of her very busy schedule to make you feel at home. She has everything you need from the camp fire grill to delicious morning coffee. There were baby chick's to hold, baby ducks to visit and of course the kid goats and horses that are always great just to watch grazing the fields. This has definitely become our little piece of paradise and again we are planning our next stay. Thank you Carrie for not only only being a great host but becoming a dear friend. See you soon!

The cabin and farm are just as described. The location is amazing for those who want to go into the nearby attractions but stay out of the fray; it's close to a wide variety of historic sites, parks, and Philadelphia but feels like an oasis of peace and quiet. It is a rustic site and setting, the cabin is clean, and cute. We loved falling asleep to the soft lull of the creek and waking up to the roosters crowing. And if you're a horse lover, you'll love these horses! The host was the best part-- warm, welcoming, and genuine. This is a working farm; the owner describes it accurately. One tip: stay long enough to truly relax and enjoy the farm! :)

We stopped here on our cross country road trip and booked an extra day just in case we ran into issues. We ended up staying at Carrie's for both nights, which was really fun. We got to meet a lot of her animals, and got to check the place out a little bit. It was a great location, close to some tourist activities like Gettysburg but not right in the middle of it.

I'm so glad you had a good stay. And that there was time for you to just hang out with the mare herd. Please do come back if you are ever down this way, even just for a day visit.

Carrie was a great hostess. Because I got there later than anticipated, she left a plan for me to use self check-in. Everything was clean, easily accessible, and when I later met Carrie, it was a great experience. A true animal love, Carrie was a warm and welcoming hostess. She's a hardworking hostess who has set up a beautiful rustic cabin and a full experience for the inquisitive heart. Horses, dogs, chickens. There's plenty of life on this little farm for the adventurous, animal-loving heart. But there's also plenty of quiet for the soul that needs recharging. Enjoy!

The surroundings for Carrie's cabin are gorgeous - rolling hills, diverse small farms, orchards, woods, creeks, fields and lots of wildlife. The cabin is a pleasure to inhabit, with just enough space, and more comfortable than I had expected on a brutally hot summer evening. Carrie has set it up really nicely, with solar lighting for bedtime reading or working at the little table, and a solar recharging station for your phone. The bed is very comfortable. Carrie is also really generous with her time and expertise. So if you enjoy horses, goats, and ducks, or just want to relax in a beautiful rural setting, I recommend this place!

Horses, animals and country life are in my blood and bone and heart. East West is a dream coming to life. Living here, surrounded by amazing gorgeous elegant black Arabian horses, charming fainting goats, big fluffy white dogs and so many more marvelous animals feels like a dream some days. As a host, my desire is to share this dream with you and introduce you to a different way of interacting with these animals and this land.
I have also shared some of my favorite local attractions for you to enjoy. Favorite restaurants (thai food at the very top of the list), favorite learning experiences in Gettysburg, and favorite hikes (I've hiked most of the local parks and reserves).
As a host, I'm happy to leave you to relax and explore on your own, or share my experiences with you. I may offer to join you at your evening camp fire. I will encourage you to join me in greeting the horse and goat herds, and give you a chance to have your feet sat on by a large white dog (her way of saying she approves of you).
East West is about relaxing, unplugging, tuning in to the animals and nature, and maybe learning something new, especially about yourself.
