A charming Georgian former coaching inn, built in 1860 by ticket-of-leave convict William Dean. The upstairs Queen suite has a full sized Queen bed and a pull out sofa bed, suitable for one adult or child. There is a large ensuite with shower, and tea and coffee, with a bar fridge, and complimentary port, biscuits and sweets.
Downstairs is a large and cosy lounge with a unique vaulted ceiling and wood fire. A full cooked breakfast is served in the dining room, and there is a licensed bar.

We love Tasmania's northern midlands and the wonderful rural landscape around Longford, and enjoy making our guests feel welcome in this wonderful heritage listed Georgian house.
I am passionate about cooking our beautiful Tasmanian fresh produce (especially desserts), gardening, good wine, antiques, and painting botanic watercolours and birds.
When not at the Racecourse Inn we love to get out and explore around Tasmania's northern midlands and the Great Western Tiers.
