Located in the grounds of the historic 1830's Kippilaw Homestead property, the Kippilaw Stonehouse is a dream country getaway for couples. Set on a 400 acre cattle farm, with 10 acres of beautiful gardens, 2 horses, 4 alpacas and a shed full of chickens, and with access to the property tennis court and pool, the Stonehouse is newly renovated, bringing together new appliances and a fresh bathroom and kitchen with unique historical touches, all overlooking the Wollondilly River.

El lugar

The Kippilaw Estate is one of the first grand residences in the colony of New South Wales, dating back to the 1840s. The stonehouse within Kippilaw has been lushly renovated, whilst retaining many original character features that reflect its rich history.

The stonehouse is in a private enclosed acreage shared with the shearers quarters, within the broader Kippilaw estate boasting 10 acres of secluded gardens, trees and hedging, along with an orchard, tennis court and a chicken shed guarded from preying foxes by four alpacas. The 400 acre working farm also hosts black angus cows and their calves.

The property features a pool for the warmer months (currently under renovation).

The stonehouse sleeps 2, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a luxurious, newly renovated bathroom.

It has an open fireplace and firewood supplied for the cooler months. There is also an outdoors fire pit for the winters and a bbq on the balcony overlooking the river, if you would rather a casual meal rather than using the newly renovated kitchen.

There is a dedicated car space proximate to the stonehouse.

** Strictly no parties, and unfortunately we cannot host weddings on our grounds.**

Disponible para huéspedes

Full access to the fenced acre for the shearers quarters guests, and ready access to the grounds of the historic Kippilaw estate itself with rose gardens, orchards, a tennis court and pool (for use in Summer)(currently being renovated), along with farm animals (chickens, alpacas and a pony and horse).

Situated in Goulburn, the stonehouse is a 15 minute drive through stunning southern tablelands countryside from Goulburn's main street, which hosts all the amenities you would expect of a town of 20,000 people.

Atención a los huéspedes

The stonehouse is private and, together with the shearers quarters, separate from the main Kippilaw estate. Guests are left to relax in their own space. Apart from the owners of the property, we have a resident warden who lives onsite, but normally out of view of the stonehouse. Onsite assistance is hence available if required, and we are a phone call away if required.

Please, only 2 guests in the stonehouse at a time

Kippilaw is a smoke free environment.

As animals are unpredictable and cattle can be dangerous for many reasons, we request that guests do not go into our paddocks at any time, unless accompanied by Darrin, at all times.

As we are on tank water, please use our water sparingly. Also, as we use a septic system, please do not flush anything other than toilet paper in the bowl.

Please note that we have an un-fenced river frontage and dams and supervision of children is essential.

Please leave shoes and boots outside.

This place is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice, it is even more stunning than you can imagine. The house is perfectly decorated with modern appliances but also has the old style touch. We loved the gorgeous bath that can easily fit 2 people. The fireplace is the perfect place to sit around and relax. Quick and easy trip into Goulburn. The hosts were very friendly, offering assistance but not in our way. Highly recommend staying here, we will be back.

What a wonderful place! So peaceful, stunning views, gorgeous perfectly appointed cottage, generous hosts, miles of property to wander with beautiful discoveries including a Georgian homestead and a tiny stone church on a hill. Feeling so restored from the time at Kippilaw. Highly recommend.

Couldn't have had a better weekend getaway! Andrew, Lynelle and John were so hospitable and thoughtful. We were greeted on our check-in, shown around and even had a mini history lesson about the Kippilaw land. The hosts ensured we were settled in and comfortable prior to leaving and even followed up with a text message. Everything turned out to be exactly as depicted on the website; such a cosy and homely house with wonderful views of the river, fields and farm animals. Thank you again for such a lovely and peaceful weekend. Would highly recommend this place.

This is a very nice stone house. The fire was going for our arrival which was appreciated as Winter had just commenced. The place was very tastefully decorated and very cosy. There's a lovely outdoor deck when the sun is out where you have a nice outlook and a good place for a coffee or wine with a good book. There is a fire place in the lounge room, but we were here at the start of Winter so I would suggest to bring some warm clothes as well as it takes a little while for the place to warm up. There's electric blankets on the bed, so cosy for sleeping. A great place for some down time and relaxation.

This was such a beautiful getaway location. The stone house is newly renovated and is so homely, especially with the fireplace in the living room. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals including oven and cooking utensils. Enjoying breakfast on the deck with the view of the river and fields was just lovely. We couldn't have asked for more hospitable and friendly hosts in Andrew and Lynelle who ensured we were comfortable before leaving us to settle in. They had excellent communication and we were greeted on our check-in to see a calf being hand fed its milk. Lots to see and explore here. Would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the stone house with our 20 month old daughter and it was such a lovely few days. The owners Andrew and Lynelle could not have done more for us and made us feel very welcome. It is the perfect country escape. The caretakers John and Vivianne had left lots of supplies in the cottage for us with fresh eggs which was a really nice touch. They let us know when feeding time for the animals was and our daughter was enthralled with the experience. They have a baby calf called sweets, alpacas, hens and horses. The property is seeped in history dating back to the 1800's and we were free to explore the grounds with the swimming pool, tennis court and rose garden. Highly recommend it for people who want a complete country escape. Lovely open fire and only renovated so everything is brand new. We will be back!
