Homelands is a charitable trust which provides fully accessible luxury self catering accommodation in 4 purpose built lodges (Massney, Cardy, Keil and Drummochy). The lodges are situated in the picturesque village of Lundin Links overlooking Lundin Links Golf course with open views to Edinburgh over the Firth of Forth.
The lodges have been designed by the architects currently designing the new V and A museum in Dundee and a wealth of features have been incorporated into the designs to ensure they are fully accessible including specialist support equipment/ facilities such as ceiling tracking hoists, a wet floor shower room, profiling bed, airflow mattress, Clos-o-Mat toilet, riser/recliner chair, mobile hoists, various shower chairs, a shower trolley, and equipment for people who have a hearing loss.
Lundin Links is in the heart of the beautiful East Neuk of Fife 12 miles from St Andrews; the home of golf and the home of third oldest university in the English speaking world, and a short distance from the East Neuk's rugged coastline and its character filled fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther, and Pitenweem. Lower Largo and Lundin Links themselves are famed for their links to the original Robinson Crusoe (Alexander Selkirk) whose birthplace in Lower Largo is a short distance from the Lodge. The village features a bar, restaurant, sports club (including tennis courts) and a small parade of shops including pharmacy, butchers, bakers, post office, and general store all within a short distance of the lodges.
The region is famed for it's outdoor sports/activities, water sports, history and fresh produce / sea food; served in many of the local restaurants which range from Michelin Starred to world famous and favoured by Royals fish and chips in Anstruther.

We have free superfast Wi-Fi in all of the lodges. However, please note that this facility cannot be guaranteed to be available at all times due to the unpredictability of Service Providers in the area
If you accidentally break something, please inform a staff member to ensure that we can replace it as soon as possible. There may be a charge for breakages.
Laundry, Dishwashing and Cleaning
We have provided basic cleaning materials for you under the kitchen sink, please use these as required. We have made every effort to ensure the lodge is clean and ready for you and would appreciate it greatly if you could leave the lodge as you found it.
At the end of your stay we would be very grateful if as a minimum you could empty the bins, strip the beds and leave the sheets on the beds and the towels that require washing in the wetroom.
We can provide you with extra linen and duvets; if required please just ask in the Paxton Centre. However, this does come at a cost:-
Full set of linen (single)- £3 Full set of linen (king) - £5
Duvet (single) - £10 Duvet (king) - £20
We therefore recommend that you use the washing machine and tumble drier/airer when possible.
Rubbish Disposal and Recycling
The large commercial bins are situated in the compound at the far end of the lodges. This is signposted as Recycling Point. The refuse is collected weekly. We request that you empty your bins before you depart. The bins are colour coded and a list can be found in our information pack on arrival. Please observe the rules as bins are not uplifted by the council if incorrect items are put in the bins and it is rather an unpleasant task for us to sort them if the simple rules are not followed.
In the interest of Health & Hygiene please do not dispose of sharps or needles within waste bags or any of the bins within Homelands. Needles should be disposed of within proper sharps containers; these can be obtained from local health centres’.
Additional Guests or Visitors
For Health and Safety resaons it is imperative that the number of people staying over night in the lodge does not exceed the maximum capacity number for which beds are provided. We are happy for you to have extra visitors during the day time to the lodge for a small gathering i.e. to celebrate an occasion or hold a dinner party. We would not allow a large number of visitors whereby exceeding the reasonable limit of the open plan living and kitchen area and having to extend out into the grounds or patio area. Please show consideration for our other guests in adjacent properties.
To date we have resisted the pressure to add a fuel surcharge to our property. We would be grateful if you could help us in our efforts to avoid this surcharge as well as doing your bit to cut greenhouse gases by following these energy saving tips from the energy saving trust.
1) Turn the thermostats down (see instructions within the black instruction folder). Reducing the room temperature by 1°C could cut our heating bills by up to 10 percent and typically saves around £60 per year. If you need any help with the thermostat, please ask.
2) Do not have the radiators on full in rooms you are not using, set the thermostatic control on the radiator to 2.
3) Close the curtains at dusk to stop heat escaping through the windows
4) Always turn off the lights when you leave a room, please ensure all the lights are turned out when you leave the lodge.
5) Don't leave appliances on standby and remember not to leave laptops and mobile phones on charge unnecessarily.
6) If possible, fill up the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher: one full load uses less energy than two half loads.
7) Only boil as much water as you need (but remember to cover the elements in the electric kettle).
Locks and Security
We provide one key for each lodge. Please look after the key safely, we reserve the right to charge for lost keys. We would recommend that you place the key in the key safe (don’t forget to scramble the numbers) when you leave the lodge to prevent risk of loss; the number for the key safe can be found on your pre arrival information email.
On departure you may either drop the key into reception of the Paxton Centre or alternatively leave it in the key safe (please don’t forget to scramble the key safe numbers if you leave it in the key safe). Please do not hand your key back to anyone other than a Homelands staff member.
There is a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire blanket and fire extinguisher provided for your safety, please do not tamper with these items. Should the smoke or carbon monoxide alarm (which is located in the utility room) sound please evacuate the lodge immediately and contact us.
