The Barn is perfect for writers, walkers, artists, cyclists, climbers and families. Remote (up a well-maintained half-mile track), light and newly converted in slate and oak, it is also warm and comfortable. Our barn is underfloor heated by a ground source heat pump, making it eco-friendly and efficient. Three glass doors give out on huge views over rolling hills.
There's no wifi, so you might find yourselves playing ping-pong, table football, cards, board games, lighting a fire at the fire pit, roasting marshmallows, painting, reading travel books or writing poetry instead. The Barn has a large internal space for sitting and dining and three generous bedrooms and the bathroom has both a bath and a walk-in shower. Despite there being no wifi, EE receives 4G and 3 receives 3G. Vodafone gets very little signal.
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests will have free run of the Barn and of the garden, which includes a rope swing, trampoline, pond, bluebell wood and lawn. There's a simple walk from the Barn down the half-mile track and back. There is on-site parking and a thirty-yard walk up slate steps and a gentle slope to the front door.
Atención a los huéspedes
The Barn is in the same garden (two acres) as our house, but we are only there occasionally during school holidays. Our house faces away from the Barn, so we don't overlook you, and we won't come bothering you. We'll be glad to give advice or help but will wait to be asked.
Otros aspectos destacables
The Barn is in open, prize-winning sheep country, so no dogs who like a bit of a chase should stay here. The owners would have to pay for any damage to livestock, which, since it is prize-winning, would be a hefty sum.
- The Barn has a garden of about an acre. Extremely obedient dogs are allowed, but the local farmer has the right to shoot any dog on his fields, and will do so, unfortunately. There is also a pond, so young children need to be supervised in the garden.
