2 bedroom country house (can sleep 6). DVD/VHS library. F/S tv, Wifi, cable, games, puzzles, books, music. Close to TTU, waterfalls, hiking, creeks, rivers, lakes & state parks. Open floor plan, great light. Circular drive with 2, 2 car carports. Central HVAC with lots of fans! Lots of room to bring your "toys". Security lights, motion detectors. Wrap around deck. Ceiling fans. You'll love drinking your morning coffee on the deck and late tea on watching the sun set on the front porch.
This is a great space...You will feel comfort and peace the minute you walk through the door. There is a microwave, coffee pot, tea pot, toaster, hand mixer, iron, ironing board, coffee, sugar, tea, sweeteners, pots & pans. Full kitchen. Towels, sheets, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. DVD&VHS player. Radio, cd player, tape deck. Cable, wifi. Games, crossword puzzles. Grill. Table and chairs to enjoy the deck. The beds are double beds and the 3rd bed, is a double futon. The hot water takes a minute or 2 to get into the kitchen and bathroom sinks, so be patient!..We have a circular drive. When looking at the street from the house, please enter the property from the left side and exit from the right. The reason for this is there is a blind spot from the left and it is dangerous to exit from there....I love looking across the road and seeing the buffalo and horses. There are lots of pillows and lots of throws to snuggle under...Everything in the house (with the exception of the closet in the den, which is where we store our supplies), is yours to use, eat, drink and enjoy while you are our guests. There is a red loose leaf notebook that has all kinds of info in it. It sits on the wall unit...

So to tell you a little bit about ourselves….both my husband and I are transplants to Tennessee. Jeff came here in the 70’s as a “hippie”…I came 7 years ago……I met him here and we married about 4 years ago. Jeff is from Brooklyn and I am from New Jersey…(grew up in North Jersey and lived my adult years in the beach area). We both love Tennessee and do not miss the Northern traffic….but………..I do miss the food!!!.....Jeff is in construction, he is a project manager for a local company and I am a hairdresser….on the side, we redo a home or two…..and now Airbnb!!.....
So what do I love….First, my God…..who has given me so much and who bestows His Grace on me…….then, a hot shower, great smelling Italian soap, daffodils, mountains, a green field filled with wild flowers, goats, cows, sheep, horses, buffalo, the road to Ashville that runs through the mountains, waterfalls, wading in a creek, water of all kinds, kayaking, food of all kinds, chocolate, my camera, birds in the yard, a winding country road, a creek along the way, the beach, seaglass, shells, stones and rocks…I love to hunt for rocks to build a wall or line a flower garden, dancing with my husband…I cannot be without my books, cooking, my cookbooks, wire, beads, knitting, a crossword puzzle, sudoko, bowls of all kinds and sizes (if you know me, you know I have a little problem with that), spending time with friends, my children, my grandchildren and great grandchildren, and of course my husband, Jeff, who completes my life…
My favorite movies? French Kiss, The Music Box, Out of Africa, Sex, Love And Other Drugs, The Hurricane, As Good As It Gets, My Life As A House…..favorite authors…Taylor Caldwell, Nelson DeMille, Robert Ludlum, Ken Follett…..Music….Oldies, 70’s & 80’s, 30’s & 40’s, Country, Instrumental...light Classical…..
What is my philosophy?......”Stay open to the possibilities”….I love people of all ethnicities…each has their own unique beauty…coming from NJ, where it is such a huge melting pot, I am used to seeing all ethnicities…eating all kinds of foods….hearing all different languages and accents…the other is “Carpe Diem”….seize the day…….that is all we have….and last, but not least, “Believe”……
Love to cater to people and decorating our home…Love to have people come to our home and feel the love and warmth. That is what I hope you find when you arrive here. Our home is about 4 miles from town and it sits on and Acre and a is beautiful and serene…we call it “Shiloh….a place of peace”, that is what we hope you experience while you are here…You will find some little surprises when you arrive…I will tell you about them when we talk…Everything that is in the house (except the closet in the den, where we keep our personal stuff) is yours to use and enjoy while you are with us. I or Jeff, or both of us will meet and greet you when you arrive if at all possible….There is coffee, tea, sugar, jam, a coffee pot, tea pot, toaster, micro wave, pots and pans, just enjoy!
Exploring the Upper much to see and do...So this is Shiloh....a place of peace...This little cottage is nestled on and acre and a half of beautiful land...You can walk the woods and explore what's in there! It has a covered front porch and large wraparound deck...a circular driveway with enough space to carry in your kayaks or bikes. You can watch the buffalo grazing across the road at the Lazy "G" Ranch, and watch the sun going down from the front porch. Two miles north of the house is a Dollar General where you can purchase most of what you might need. Continuing NW, to Cummins Falls where you will find hiking trails and waterfalls...you can go into the water there in the summer. Further North, is Standing Stone State Park...and The Roaring River in just up the road a ways...cross the river and turn left and there are a couple of recreation areas where you can drop in your kayaks or canoes. Further North is Dale Hollow Lake...There are many golf courses and of course the Delmonico Winery in Baxter (just a short ride). Back at the house, turn left out of the drive and head to town...2 miles south you find TTU...you may want to explore the campus or catch a sporting event. There are many great restaurants on Interstate Drive (otherwise known as restaurant row). You can also explore the West Side and the independent restaurants like Crawdaddy's, Seven Senses, The new Barbecue and Oyster Bar restaurant on Broad, Uncle Tom's Pub, The Red Silo micro brewery, World Foods, famous for their pizza and other great foods...Closer to campus is Spankies (great food and entertainment on the weekends) and House of Thai (GREAT Thai food), Mauricios Italian Restaurant, or Mama Rosa's.....After dinner yu can stop at Cream City, across from the depot, for delicious ice cream. And do not miss Ralph's Donuts (closed Sun & Mon) a landmark in Cookeville, for the best donuts ever. There are also several boutiques to explore. Next travel on up to Dogwood Park and enjoy the walking paths and the fountain..Check out the drama center, there may be a play to see...There are Friday Night Movies in the park and concerts all summer long, as well. Then head up to The Square, with more great eateries, and antique shops...There is also Burgess Falls to explore along with Rock Island...If your up for a ride, Nashville is an hour away, or head out to Fall Creek Falls...You can Kayak the Caney or just enjoy all the beauty around you....You cannot do it all in one trip, so I hope that you will love your stay here and return to spend more time with us.....Peace......
