The good: LOCATION. The location is amazing - seven minutes from the apartment to the Metro. (And half of that walk is spent getting from Motolani's apartment to the front door of the building - it's a HUGE building.) A 24 hour Safeway on the ground floor of the building. Places to eat in walking distance. CLEAN: The bedroom and the attached bathroom were spotless. LOTS OF ELECTRIC OUTLETS. At least one on every wall. HOST: Friendly and eager to please. The bad: AC: The AC was so strong that I was uncomfortably cold. Motolani turned it down a bit when I asked him to, however. NO KEY: Rather than giving me my own key fob to use, Motolani had me call him when I needed to get in the building at night, so he could buzz me in. I'm a night owl, and I would have liked to have been able to go in and out without having to wake Motolani up each time. Motolani told me not to worry about it, but I just couldn't make myself treat him like that, so instead I stayed in at night more than I otherwise would have. VERY SPARSE: The bedroom features comfy carpeting, and a clean, comfortable bed - and that's all. There's no chair, no table, no desk, no nightstand, nothing. Outside of the bedroom, there's a high kitchen table with high backless hard metal stools, and a sofa in the small living room area. (And there was Motolani's desk, but that didn't seem like something a guest should use.) I felt there was no place I could comfortably sit and work on my laptop. (The 24 hour Safeway on the ground floor has a somewhat icky public sitting area where I could sit and work, however - but I couldn't stay there too late because of not wanting to have to wake Motolani at 2am to get back inside.) TL,DR Overall, Motolani's place is a great value if you're looking for a clean, safe, centrally located place to sleep at night. If you want anything more, like a place to sit and work, or if you think you're going to want to move in and out freely at night, then another place might be better for you.
