Our charming cottage sits at water's edge on the Bagaduce River. You will enjoy over 3.5 acres of groomed woodland and full use of our private cove. We are close to Acadia National Park, Bangor International Airport and many cultural offerings. You'll find Belfast, Camden, Stonington, Deer Isle and Mount Desert Island are just short drives away. We welcome guests from all backgrounds - our accommodations are good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families with children.

El lugar

Over a span of 3 years, our family rebuilt this little cottage that had sat empty for many years. During this major rebuild, we carefully removed and saved pieces of this cottage's history. The large beam in the common area is actually one of the beams the original cottage sat upon. We pulled it carefully from beneath the building and realized it had been signed by it's original builder. We were able to save the signed portion and now this beam hangs proudly displaying it's ancestors signature. The light over the kitchen sink is actually a globe lamp that had been used as a porch light for many years. In reality, it would have been easier and more cost efficient if we had completely removed the old and replaced with new. However, once we started working on the cottage, we found a story too interesting to completely remove and many pieces of local history. Over the past 100 years, there has only been 2 previous owners of this property. We have been contacted by both families and it's been our pleasure to welcome them back to see how we tied their history into our renovations. We've seen many tears and been thanked many times for saving this gem and bringing it back to life.

We had a really wonderful stay at the cottage. It is as beautiful as the photographs suggest-- clean and open, nicely decorated, with an incredible view of the cove. Aesthetic while still rustic. A perfect relaxing place to spend a week. The two of us spent our time moving between the couch which looked out through the screened-in porch at the water, sitting on the porch looking out at the water, and down at the dock (looking at the water). Gorgeous spot. We also fell in love with the Bagaduce River and it's tides, seals, bald eagles, horseshoe crabs and other wildlife. Tonyia was a great communicator, and quick to answer any questions. They've also provided a nice binder with information about the area, suggested eating and recreation spots, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely one-week stay at this lovely cottage on the river. The cottage was very beautifully decorated - simplistic, but with all of the things that you need to be comfortable. It featured a beautiful screened porch facing the water and a dock with two Adirondack chair for reading in the sun or watching the sunset. We rented kayaks from The Activity Shop in Blue Hill and highly recommend it! We also took several day trips to Acadia, which is just over an hour away. Tonyia was a fantastic host and responded quickly to my questions about where to grocery shop (there's a Hannaford just 10 minutes away) and hike nearby. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Upon opening the door to the 'Saltwater Cottage on the Cove' we knew we made a great decision. The cottage is completely remodeled with that modern farmhouse style that would make Chip and Joanna Gaines proud. Your immediately drawn to the completely screened-in front porch that has a stunning view of the Bagaduce River. During low tide our son enjoyed looking for horseshoe crabs, shells, and other signs of sea life. The cottage was well appointed with cooking utensils, pots, and pans in-case you want to stay in for the evening. The owners spent some time making a binder that recommends local restaurants and shops. It is great to get these suggestions from people that live and work in the area. The location suited us well. We spent a lot of time hiking in Acadia, which is about an hour away, but we also had the opportunity to experience the "real" Maine. Real Maine seems to be a great mixture of small, rural spaces, and a deep culture of arts, creativity, and sense of community. You be surprised by the number of locally owned shops and restaurants hiding around each and every corner. There are also great hiking areas just down the street from the cabin which are highlighted in the binder. Overall our family had a great experience here and I'm sure yours will too.

Tonyia and Franks's house is a great place to explore the area. We had great communication with them and they were very helpful in offering suggestions for us. We also loved spending time in the screened in porch at night (away from the mosquitos).
